-- states that abortion "fits the GOP philosophy"
-- supports partial birth abortion

Do you have a citation for this, because I've really grown weary of anonymous Freepers (particulary those who are opposed to him) trying to represent Rudy's position on issues. I've already seen too much intellectual dishonesty here on these matters to simply trust my "fellow Freeper" on these points. If Rudy has formally come out in favor of partial birth abortion, I'd like to see that comment, and then he needs to be confronted with it when and if he announces for President.

“I’m pro-choice. I’m pro-gay rights,” Giuliani said. He was then asked whether he supports a ban on what critics call partial-birth abortions. “No, I have not supported that, and I don’t see my position on that changing,” he responded. - Source: CNN.com, “Inside Politics” Dec 2, 1999

See my post above.

Are you going to do the confronting?

I'm not anonymous, I'm CGK! :)

And sure on the citation/source - here you go:

-- states that abortion "fits the GOP philosophy"
Excerpt taken from Rudy's remarks to NARAL at the "Champions of Choice" luncheon where he was honored on April 5, 2001.
"And I would like to explain, just for one moment, why I believe being in favor of choice is consistent with the philosophy of the Republican Party. In fact, it might be more consistent with the philosophy of the Republican Party.

-- supports partial birth abortion (Sources both cited here as a dozen other google sites also have them, but those with Lexis Nexis can probably access full content).

On CNN's "Inside Politics", Dec 2. 1999:

"I'm Pro-Choice."; same interview, on supporting even a modest ban on PBA: "No, I have not supported that, and I don't see my position on that changing."

To the NY Times, Nov. 1999:

When asked about Clinton's veto on the Partial Birth Abortion Ban he stated: "Yes. I said I then that I support him, so I have no reason to change my mind about it".
