Thanks anyway. I'm going to make the second half of my life (God willing) count for more than the first half did.
everybody here knows what the "federal immigration" case was all about - the City can't use its police resources to enforce immigration laws. no municipality can, they can't turn their police into INS agents - that's what the INS is supposed to be doing.
I could make platitudes about NYC being the essence of America, but those would probably be lost upon you, FRiend.
Rudy in drag raised a helluva lot of money for NON-public sector charities. That you imply some sort of innuendo about his politics from his dressing in drag probably speaks more about you than him.
I don't recall him praising Justice Ginsberg. He is personally acquainted with Justices Alito and Scalia, and has, for the record, spoken wistfully on behalf of their jurisprudence. WRT guns, what would you do if you were mayor of NYC? Does the USA suddenly become subservient to whatever happened there?
I'm not, but I know i am amonsgst friends, and have no intentions of causing trouble! Just ask howlin, she's a fairly good bellweather.
COLMES: Now, on abortion now, you are pro-choice, right?
GIULIANI: Yes.
COLMES: You're a pro-choice Republican.
GIULIANI: I am.
~snip~
COLMES: Now, Roe vs. Wade -- You are pro-choice. How important is it to you as a pro-choice Republican to have a pro-choice on the court as someone...
GIULIANI: That is not the critical factor. And what's important to me is to have a very intelligent, very honest, very good lawyer on the court. And he fits that category, in the same way Justice Ginsburg fit that category.
I mean, she was she maybe came at it from a very different political background, very qualified lawyer, very smart person.
Good on ya!
I wish you all the strength you need to do so!
Justice Ginsberg was confirmed 96-3, almost every republican voted for her - so I guess they are ALL rinos.
You don't appear to post drunk; that's as far as I can go with that particular line of thought.
I think we have you on "probation." :0)
Supposedly that is the case; however, it no longer is, for some members of FR, whilst others are getting banned or suspended for far less offenses.
"WRT guns, what would you do if you were mayor of NYC?"
Work for a good carry law.
NOT sue the manufacturers of guns. NOT appoint liberals to the bench. NOT celebrate the "Stonewall Rebellion" where the radical queers fought NYPD. NOT had a public adulterous affair with my PR director. NOT hired corrupt cops. But then that's just me. Oh yeah, never would I have praised Sanger or taken blood money from NARAL.
He ran for mayor three times in New York City (1989, 1993, and 1997) -- and he never got the Conservative Party endorsement in any of them. Yet he managed to secure the endorsement of the Liberal Party for at least one of those campaigns.
Funny how you keep posting that, but editing out the fact that he was commenting about John Roberts at the time.
I don;t believe you have ever seen the book
You should get a copy - they have them cheap on ebay
The intro is written by a famous former-Atheist journalist
What's interesting here is that there are a lot of Freepers who insist that Rudy Giuliani is somehow a conservative candidate for a presidential election, and yet he was never really even conservative by New York City standards. He ran for mayor three times in New York City (1989, 1993, and 1997) -- and he never got the Conservative Party endorsement in any of them. Yet he managed to secure the endorsement of the Liberal Party for at least one of those campaigns
I promise not to show it. You'll neve know if I am or not. I usually type better when I am drinkinging, anyway. Rarely do i bring my glasses and prosthesis on weekdays.
LOL
read your own post. those things he said about Ginsberg, are true
"she maybe came at it from a very different political background, very qualified lawyer, very smart person"
she is smart (is she dumb?), she was honest (do you have any evidence she was a crook?), she was an accomplished lawyer.
but as Rudy said "she maybe came at it from a very different political background". in other words, he's saying SHE'S A LIBERAL. it's right there in the words you posted.
Not only can GOOGLE help you, but much of what I have referred to can be found posted by others and linked to the newspaper articles. If you are willing to wade through the most recent RUDY THREADS, you will find the links on them.
Who was he praising when he spoke to NARAL?
