But he sounded plaintive here, as if he'd woke up with a pounding hangover and said to himself, "What have I done?" I thought about it awhile and wrote a reply offering to intercede with Jim. He didn't respond.

Never did figure out what set him off, but I think it had to do with Terri. A Darwinian view, aka the law of the jungle, would find plenty of reason to favor snuffing Terri Schiavo.
