Still Waiting
Dakota Voice ^ | 1/29/2007 | Carrie K. Hutchens

I don't know about anyone else, but I am still waiting for Michael Schiavo to make a correction on his blog about what "actually" took place in Colorado when he went there (to the debate) to supposedly ask Congresswoman Musgrave one question and she and her staff supposedly tried to have him removed. He called it, "My unreal night in Colorado - with radio link" (Thu Oct 26, 2006 at 08:05:14 PM PST). I'll say (from what I read) that it was his "unreal night".

As I said before in "Standing up and Admitting a Mistake: Not Schiavo's Style?",  if four uniformed officers were around my seat, I would have some idea of what was going on. I certainly wouldn't be sitting in "duh mode" to only be told later of what took place right there around me, as Michael suggests he was. If Michael's account is realistic -- his response and reaction is not. Nor is his response appropriate now that he has "learned" what he was "allegedly told" is not what took place. One would think if he can't get the words out that he was mistaken, he could at least have removed the inaccurate entry from his blog.

He has done neither.

I'm also still waiting to read about, "Also, maybe tomorrow I'll post about my election-eve rally with Bill Clinton in Florida." (A real election impact by Michael Schiavo, Thu Nov 09, 2006 at 10:40:34 AM PST).  Indeed, I would love to read that story by Michael, since I read it was not possible. Not if he was implying it was the Bill Clinton that is the former President of the United States. Will be interesting to see what he says about that if he ever does.

If Michael couldn't get it straight what happened at the Musgrave debate or even if he spent election-eve with former President Bill Clinton -- do you suppose he might have gotten Terri Schiavo's wishes mixed-up as well? (He does claim to have a bad memory from what I read.) Makes one wonder. At least makes me wonder. Whatever...

I'm still waiting for the corrections if not the explanations!

The McCain Scrutiny...

I am not a fan of this guy, an opinion I garnered many decades ago, in the presence of his father, the cussingist Admiral anyone has heard, yea even when son was newly a prisoner of the bad guys. But I do like this...

Earlier in the same year, as bloodshed and chaos grew in Iraq, the Republican Party showed its respect for the sanctity of human life by trying to intervene in the case of Terri Schiavo, a Florida woman who had been in a vegetative state for fifteen years following cardiac arrest. McCain backed Republicans’ attempt to force Schiavo’s husband to keep his wife on life support, quality of life and multiple court decisions be damned. When the public saw through the publicity stunt, the GOP brought their ace in in a pinch to do damage control. Of the breathtakingly crass sketch, McCain told ABC with grandfatherly earnestness: “I think that the motivation of my colleagues is that we want to give this young woman’s family a chance to care for her as long as she lives.”

The Honest Republican?

>> Frist suffered for his role in the political furor over Terri Schiavo, a comatose Florida woman

He certainly suffered from media lies like this one. Yoo hoo, Washington Post -- Terri was not comatose.

"Controversial"? Could there possibly be anything wrong with knocking off weaker members of the species? Saves money, y'know. Too bad if you are one of the ones to get snuffed.

Later, mate. If Gumlegs shows up in Bugzapper again, you might show him this exchange. RA was BS-ing about me getting him suspended, of course. But he sounded plaintive here, as if he'd woke up with a pounding hangover and said to himself, "What have I done?" I thought about it awhile and wrote a reply offering to intercede with Jim. He didn't respond.

Never did figure out what set him off, but I think it had to do with Terri. A Darwinian view, aka the law of the jungle, would find plenty of reason to favor snuffing Terri Schiavo.

What were your thoughts on the Terri Schiavo Virginia Tech situation and whether Congress the police should have intervened? Do you believe a patient person who has been diagnosed as terminally ill or is in a persistent vegetative state denied their right to bear arms has a right to die with dignity?

This is a wonderful idea. Too bad we can’t all go to the Franciscan Brothers of Peace when society decides we’ve consumed our fair share of air. But money is what it takes for most of us, and the Schindlers are doing all they can to help. God bless them.

The Terri Factor at play at the "debates", more than an Obama Nation, and more coverage...

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- There's one thing all of the Democratic candidates seeking the party's nomination for president have in common -- they all strongly support abortion. The candidates put those pro-abortion views on display last night in the first primary presidential debate of the election season.

~Snip~

Finally, during a question and answer phase about the biggest mistake each candidate has made during his political life, Senator Obama talked about Terri Schiavo.

"I think professionally the biggest mistake that I made was when I first arrived in the Senate. There was a debate about Terri Schiavo, and a lot of us, including me, left the Senate with a bill that allowed Congress to intrude where it shouldn't have," he said.

"And I think I should have stayed in the Senate and fought more for making sure [Terri's parents couldn't take their case to federal court to save her life]," he explained.

This is the one rare time when the far left thinks the government sticks its nose too far, the diametric opposite of their usual stand...

Furrther, whatever you think of this procedure, that the federal government in this case has again intruded into an area that seems to us to be most properly situated close to or in domestic law _ and therefore in our federal system under state jurisdiction _ should trouble even many conservatives. This is part of a troubling pattern we have seen in the Bush administration of undermining the right of the states to regulate medicine within their boundaries. The Terry Schiavo case and the Oregon assisted-suicide law provide the best-known cases of such, to us, inappropriate intervention.

Wagglebee has a thread on the debates and Terri as described in Life News...

The candidates put those pro-abortion views on display last night in the first primary presidential debate of the election season.

Former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards left off the debate with the first question on abortion issues going to him.

Anytime people think a person cannot change to the better, they can look at Chuck Colson and his work for God each day. Ping to wagglebee thread.

Christian conservatives have often over recent years despaired when they have lost a vote in Congress or an election. And many have said lately, “Why are we bothering with politics? We're not getting anything from these politicians we elect.” Wrong.

Jim Dobson and I talked about this issue with President Bush when he was first elected. He stood strong, and we ought to all be grateful to him. Not only did he push this law, he also appointed nothing but strict constructionist judges, including Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Alito, who cast the deciding vote this week.

Jim and I and others have worked hard to get those judges confirmed, and pro-life senators led the fight. I hope this decision by the Court will silence those who say we have gotten nothing for our efforts and cause us all to renew our commitment to continue the fight until, just like slavery, this abominable evil is ended in this country.

Never despair. It’s a sin, because it denies the sovereignty of God.

Let all evil-doers know that they are being closely observed. From a hotel "business center" computer. At thirty bucks an hour. While free breakfast, with much needed steaming hot coffee, is being served on a different floor.

TERRI IS STILL IN THE NEWS EVERY DAY. The left seems unable to let go of her which makes them look like they are card carrying members of the Culture of Death.

Meanwhile, Terri's Legacy Listers and many others in Terri's Fight still have the truth on our side.

The whole truth. God Bless the Schindlers, Bobby and Suzanne.
