I don't know about anyone else, but I am still waiting for Michael Schiavo to make a correction on his blog about what "actually" took place in Colorado when he went there (to the debate) to supposedly ask Congresswoman Musgrave one question and she and her staff supposedly tried to have him removed. He called it, "My unreal night in Colorado - with radio link" (Thu Oct 26, 2006 at 08:05:14 PM PST). I'll say (from what I read) that it was his "unreal night".

As I said before in "Standing up and Admitting a Mistake: Not Schiavo's Style?",  if four uniformed officers were around my seat, I would have some idea of what was going on. I certainly wouldn't be sitting in "duh mode" to only be told later of what took place right there around me, as Michael suggests he was. If Michael's account is realistic -- his response and reaction is not. Nor is his response appropriate now that he has "learned" what he was "allegedly told" is not what took place. One would think if he can't get the words out that he was mistaken, he could at least have removed the inaccurate entry from his blog.

He has done neither.

I'm also still waiting to read about, "Also, maybe tomorrow I'll post about my election-eve rally with Bill Clinton in Florida." (A real election impact by Michael Schiavo, Thu Nov 09, 2006 at 10:40:34 AM PST).  Indeed, I would love to read that story by Michael, since I read it was not possible. Not if he was implying it was the Bill Clinton that is the former President of the United States. Will be interesting to see what he says about that if he ever does.

If Michael couldn't get it straight what happened at the Musgrave debate or even if he spent election-eve with former President Bill Clinton -- do you suppose he might have gotten Terri Schiavo's wishes mixed-up as well? (He does claim to have a bad memory from what I read.) Makes one wonder. At least makes me wonder. Whatever...

Lawyers for both Carolyn and Michael Riley asked Judge Patrick Hurley to release them while they await trial. They are currently being held without bail. Hurley did not immediately rule on the request. He scheduled a probable cause hearing for March 26.

Carolyn Riley told police that her psychiatrist, Dr. Kayoko Kifuji, diagnosed Rebecca with bipolar disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder when she was 21/2.

The girl was taking Clonidine, a blood pressure medication, for ADHD, as well as other prescription medications for bipolar disorder.

Bourbeau said that even though police claim Carolyn Riley frequently sought and received extra Clonidine pills for Rebecca, she gave her daughter only the amount prescribed by Kifuji.

I wonder if Anna Nicole had a Living Will. She seemed to have a Death Wish, all right, but now it is not just a Living Will or even a George Will, but wills of all kinds which may spring into our consciousness.

Much like the death of Terri Schiavo made the concept of a living will part of the national debate, Anna Nicole's death is bringing the final will and testament into the forefront.

Hart argues, however, that Bush's beliefs are "disonnected from reality." Unless Hart is careful, this can become just another way of saying that he disagrees with Bush on the merits of various policies? That's not much of a working definition of conservatism.

Hart tries to be careful. He focuses on two strands of Bush's thinking that he considers especially disconnected from reality. The first is Bush's religious beliefs. They produce in Bush a set of moral beliefs that have informed some of his positions -- e.g. what types of stem cell research to fund federally and whether to sign a bill passed by Congress to give Terry Schiavo access to federal courts (as I recall the issue). They have not caused him to anything much with respect to the issues of abortion and gay marriage. In any event, it is far from clear that possessing, and sometimes acting consistently with, moral beliefs based on religious principles is antithetical to being a conservative.

ENGLEWOOD, NJ, March 6, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com/Operation Rescue) - Two more women have come forward and told of their life-threatening abortion injuries at Metropolitan Medical Associates since news broke last week of the clinic's closure in response to a botched abortion on 20-year old Rasheedah Dinkins that left her comatose for four weeks and unable to bear any more children. Metropolitan is one of the largest abortion mills in New Jersey, and is affiliated with the National Abortion Federation.

One of the women, Gloria Mozas, 36, is suing Metropolitan for an abortion she had in 2003. Mozas alleges that abortionist Nicholas Kotopoulos misdiagnosed her condition of heterotopic pregnancy, in which one baby had implanted in the uterus and another in the fallopian tube. Pregnancies located in the fallopian tubes are life-threatening conditions.

Kotopoulos told Mozas that she was not pregnant, but required a D&C to remove "dead tissue" from a failed pregnancy. During a follow-up visit, Mozas sneaked a look at her medical records and learned that the D&C, which she endured without anesthesia, had killed her live baby.

My MIL in France was issued by her euthanasia loving doctor huge quantities of tiny but powerful and lethal pills to "calm her down". They would be split into tiny fragments for light doses. It was enough to wipe out a small town. Overdose would have been incredibly easy. Maybe that was the point.

Christa Lilly had a heart attack then a stroke. That's the last thing she remembers. It was November of 2000, when Lilly slipped into a vegetative state, which is essentially like a coma, but with the eyes open. Lilly was unconscious and unaware of her surroundings. Now, for the first time in six and a half years, she's awake, alert, and talking. "I think it's wonderful. It makes me so happy," Lilly tells us.

Massachusetts has a penchant for government (DSS) actions not conducive to human longevity and in the spotlight revealed to a large part, I suspect, because of the horrors exposed with the treatment of Haleigh Poutre.

In this case, the death of Rebecca Riley, more details emerge.

Lawyers for Carolyn and Michael Riley point to prescription records supplied by prosecutors and argue that those records show the Rileys did not have substantially more medication than had been prescribed for their 4-year-old daughter, Rebecca, who was found dead in their Hull home in December.

Boston lawyer Michael Bourbeau said that assuming Rebecca was actually given the number of pills prescribed for her between Aug. 16 and her death on Dec. 13, she was not being overdosed.

If Massachusetts DSS has a penchant for reducing human longevity, they also have a penchant for treating the charges they scoop up as personal property. We may see how DSS does in this effort by a relative to visit children deeded over to DSS as government property.

The grandmother of a 4-year-old girl who died of a prescription pill overdose is asking to be allowed to see her other two grandchildren.

Valerie Berio of Weymouth said she expects to meet with officials from the Department of Social Services to discuss the possibility of visits with her 6-year-old granddaughter and 11-year-old grandson.

Bobby Schindler is braver than I in boldly stepping into the Cornell-Ithaca New York environment. Doing so, he told the story of what happened to Terri, something recent trolls and run-of-the-mill misinformed seem not to want to understand.

In 1998, Michael wrote the Schindler family a letter, explaining that he was petitioning the courts to remove his wife’s feeding tube.

Terri’s family opposed removal of the feeding tube. Michael, backed by his brother and sister-in-law, said Terri had made statements before she suffered brain damage that she would not want to live in such a condition.

“Our family was very naïve at what we were up against,” Schindler said. “The attitudes of our country [toward this issue] have been changed because of the influence of the media, judges, doctors and bioethics.”

Schindler said he was frustrated that the media portrayed his sister as bedridden and unable to be moved. In fact, Schindler said, had Terri been alive today, he could have brought her with him; she would have merely needed a wheelchair to be transported. Schindler emphasized that Schiavo was not connected to breathing stabilizers of any sort.

“My sister was not dying. She was physically as healthy as you and me,” Schindler said.

How could it be otherwise? Another article out of Ithaca about Bobby Schindler's visit casts a slightly different tone, one equivocal, one that shows Mikey as more nifty, sympathetic, although ostensibly in support of the Schindlers.

Terri’s is a tale that I have long thought to be so tragic for so many reasons. Before passing away in a Florida hospice on March 31, 2005, Terri would transform from a beloved wife and daughter into a polarizing figure caught in the middle of a very bloody battle of beliefs that would end up ripping both a family and a nation apart.
