They are saying that the next GOP presidential candidate might very well be a pro-abortion Republican who promises not to push that issue and is strong on other issues.

They hope that pro-lifers will “be reasonable,” not let the perfect be the enemy of the good, and go along quietly.

But, but, but, if we give up our principles and vote for a man who didn't have any principles to begin with, what do we stand for? How are we better than the other party? How are we even different from Democrats? No, thanks.

Winning elections is not the point. Politics is forever the enemy of civilization. From a conservative view, the only point of elective office is to get rid of the excess and corrupting powers of the government. If you can't do that, join the Democrats and go wallow in your imperial trough.
