Afghan blast during Cheney visit
At least two people have been killed in an explosion outside the main US military base in Afghanistan, during a visit by US Vice-President Dick Cheney.
Many others were injured in the blast, the cause of which is unknown.
Mr Cheney, on an unannounced visit to the region, was staying at the Bagram base, 60km (40 miles) from Kabul.
A US military spokesman said the explosion did not appear to be aimed at the vice-president, who was safely inside the base at the time.
