Nealz Nuze ^ | February 1, 2007 | Neal Boortz

Posted on 02/01/2007 4:50:20 PM PST by EveningStar

President Bush is sounding more and more like a liberal Democrat these days. He's out preaching about income inequality and the growing gap between the rich and the poor. And Bush is supposed to be a conservative? Between No Child Left Behind, expanding Medicare, raising the minimum wage and his guest worker program....and now this...one is wondering just how Bush is a Republican anymore...

"GW breaks the mold of the bigoted heartless and self-centered conservative stereo-type."

He does huh. And who besides liberals see conservatives as as those nasty things above?

Voters all across the spectrum of politics including Reblicans and conservatives who read threads like THIS ONE on FR. And are disgusted.

By the way,if it's the liberals he's supposed to be impressing with his compassion I don't think it's working !!!

Bush isn't now and never has tried to impress liberals. This is a man who speaks from personal conviction. Something you might want to learn a little about.

Oh I DO speak from personal conviction, which is precisely why I don't evaluate Bush's leadership through a prism of partisanship, something you might want to learn a little about !!!

I have no problem with his comments on CEO pay, and no problem with the minimum wage bill.

but the comments at the SOTU about global warming, that issue is just too big to give away to the Dems.

No not at all.

Which explains your mocking Bush for his "compassion" for the "downtrodden".

Be careful you don't get your party back and lose your country. That's what will happen if the party splits and Hillary gets in. We're looking at Armageddon in '08.

There are those who would (correctly?) say that Bush never really was a conservative. Other than his determination to defend our country from Islamic radicals and his economy-boosting tax cuts... what real conservative credentials does he have?

You're having a hard time disagreeing with someone who so cavalierly dismisses the President's record on the economy and Islamic terrorism and then compares him to Jimmy Carter? Not to mention he missed things like judicial nominations. Tax cuts, the war, and every other supposed conservative position is threatened by the Democrats in Washington right now and those on our side continue to attack and undermine.

Me either. And I don't feel the wealthy owe it to society to be taxed out the wazzoo in order to support the poor.

But those who mock and belittle the homeless and downtrodden truly disgust me.

I wish he didn't either, just as I wish the former Republican majorities could have shown more discipline. But that doesn't excuse (for me) Boortz' recklessness.
