Is there Global Warming on Mars? In 2003, NASA's orbiter Mars Odyssey spotted seasonal changes such as the advance and retreat of polar ice, but it also is gathering information pointing to long-term trends.
William Feldman of the Los Alamos National Laboratory confirmed that the current climate conditions, including too much frozen water at low-latitude regions, suggests something is out of equilibrium on Mars.
Many scientists believe that Mars is coming out of an Ice Age. In some low-latitude areas, the ice has already dissipated. In others, that process is slower and hasn't reached equilibrium yet. Those areas are like the patches of snow you sometimes see persisting in protected spots long after the last snowfall of the winter.
Frozen water makes up as much as 10 percent of the top three feet of surface material in some regions close to the equator. Dust deposits may be covering and insulating the lingering ice.
The maximum temperature on Mars today is roughly 20 degrees Celsius (68 Fahrenheit). The annual temperature is -55 degrees Celsius (-67 Fahrenheit) and the famous minimum temperature is -89 degrees Celsius (-128 Fahrenheit). The thin atmosphere cannot hold heat and is the cause of the lower temperatures on Mars.

Every time I have heard Rush talk about global warming (and thats a lot of times) he has consistently ridiculed the idea that it is man made.
Sure enough. Rush is shooting at the right targets. But is he shooting with blanks? At least he's on the right team. But why make a case with weak arguments?
Just this afternoon He went off on how >if< there is global warming man didn't cause it and so there was nothing we could do about it. It was around 2pm, late in the second hour of the program. He was blasting the super bowl folks for bellying up to the global warming bar.
Quinn and Rose - America's morning show, also talks about how the sun is warming and is the main cause of any increase in Earth temperatures.
