Oh my! Things could get VERY interesting.
I sure DID feel good reading it!
Good to hear!
^_^
We don't but here's a bumper sticker for anyone that wants to use it.(some assembly required)
ALL my graphix are for anyone that wants to use them just copy them to your computer and use your own picture hosting service first, don't overload my photobucket account.
Nice summary; copied to my HD.
PLEASE ADVISE:
This is my first "action". Before I leave my FOB (upstate NY)and head outside the wire is there a definitive resrouce that will help me accomplish my mission?
1. what, who, where and when
2. Bivouac recommendations
3. Equipment
4. Permit and ID
5. Red ARM Band
See my post on armbands.
See this thread, but specifically see Post #13 http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1782667/posts

If I might add some input:
If possible make a brassard (a fancy military term for arm band) from an Old short sleeve uniform shirt with your rank insignia. Cut The sleeve off above the shoulder seam and put your branch insignia above the rank insignia and attach the "brassard" to what ever shirt you are wear underneath with common safety pin. Write your name and or the name of the group you are with below the rank insignia.
Non Veterans in attendance are suggested to wear a cammie cloth armband or bandanna with an American flag Patch sewn to it.
I'll be at spring training for the Cubs that whole week.
Will be in DC on the 22nd. Bad timing on my part.
ANything near or in Phoenix?
I'll be in nearby Mesa that week.
A simple collapsible Flag pole (Guidon)
A collapsible flag pole is easy to make. first get a length of PVC pipe of a length and thickness YOU are comfortable with.
I recommend the length of a standard guidon either 8 or 9 feet get two PVC couplings and two PVC caps for the size tubing you buy. (By The way an official Guidon cost about $125 to $135 I checked) Also you will need a couple of bungee cords and three 10-24 machine screws (thick enough to go through the PVC pipe and through the lock nut as well) and three 10-24 nylock lock nuts.
All of these supplies can be purchased a your local home depot.
Cut the PVC pipe into three equal sections and deburr the cut ends so that the caps and couplings slide easily onto any end. select one section of pipe to serve as the center section and in the middle of that pipe drill a hole as big as the 10-24 machine screw. hook the two bungee cords together and slide both into the center section of pipe so that two hooks are where the screw hole is install the screw and nut and tighten securely so that the bungee cords are firmly attached to the center section.
Place the the couplings on the center section they may be glued into place (BUT IF YOU DO WAIT FOR THE GLUE TO DRY BEFORE CONTINUING). By now you should have figured out that the bungee cords are going to hold this pole together as well as letting it be broke down for travel, because I won't know what type of bungee cord you use, you will have to determine where to drill the holes for the machine screws that will hold the bungee cords to the end sections, stretch the bungee cord out to at least three quarters taught and mark each end section accordingly and drill your screw holes in each. Then using a cord or twine pull the bungee cord into position on the end sections and install your machine screws.
Practice assembling and disassembling it a few times before installing the end caps to ensure it works properly.
Now you have your collapsible guidon attaching a flag is easy, pick an end to be the top and position the flag's eyelets on your pole and drill two holes the same size as the machine screws through the pipe.....errr if there is the possibility you might hit the bungee cord, do not drill straight through, drill a hole on each side to avoid damaging the cord.
Attaching the flag is easy through each hole run a tywrap (those plastic thinges every man should have) and through the eyes and attach the tywaps LOOSE so that it isn't tight against the pole and flys easily.
Tape over the screws and nuts with duct tape, just because.
Whew! I hope that helps anyone that is going, it has been a while since I wrote anything of the insert tab A into slot B variety.
Since I can't make it I would like to help money wise. Is there any way I can?
Also if there is enough people going might be able to get a group rate at a hotel.
Work it in where the armband section is if you can.
I really have a problem with wearing a red armband to anything involving a bunch of irrational communist sympathizers.
Veterans should proudly wear their branch and rank insignia.
