Anti-war protesters were allowed to spray paint on part of thewest front steps of the United States Capitol building after police wereordered to break their security line by their leadership, two sources toldThe Hill.
According to the sources, police officers were livid when theywere told to fall back by U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) Chief Phillip Morse andDeputy Chief Daniel Nichols. "They were the commanders on the scene," one source said,who requested anonymity. "It was disgusting."
After police ceded the stairs, located on the lower west frontof the Capitol, the building was locked down, the source added.
A second source who witnessed the incident said that the policehad the crowd stopped at Third Street, but were told to bring the policeline in front of the Capitol.
Approximately 300 protesters were allowed to take the steps andbegan to spray paint "anarchist symbols" and phrase such as "Ourcapitol building" and "you can’t stop us" around the area, thesource said.
Morse responded to these claims in an e-mail Sunday afternoon,explaining that the protesters were seeking confrontation with the police.
"While there were minor instances of spray painting ofpavement by a splinter group of Anarchists who were seeking a confrontationwith the police, their attempts to breach into secure areas and rush thedoors of the Capitol were thwarted," Morse said. "The graffiti waseasily removed by the dedicated [Architect of the Capitol] staff, some of whom responded on their day off to quickly clean the area."
He added, "It is the USCP's duty and responsibility to protectthe Capitol complex, staff and public while allowing the public to exercisetheir First Amendment rights … at the end of the day, both occurredwithout injury to protestors or officers."

My feelings for SF fruits, hippies, loons, and fist-raising Communists is as follows: the day I turn on the TV and hear of a 10.0 hitting the Bay Area is the day I call out sick and break out every bottle of MacAllan in giddy celebration.
I don't think you'll be in purgatory for that. God HATES EVIL, and it is HE who would send that judgment.

Let me first off say that if this had been my house or my property, these goofballs would have been chased away or mauled by my dog. I might also add that if had my house been spray painted like this and had my local police allowed it to happen Not only would I make sure that heads rolled but I would also put out a bounty for the perpatrators of this B.S. and C.F.
The first amendment is not a license to go and terrorize people just becuase they speak out in Support of President Bush and the War on Terror.
These anarchists are the very same people that following the awful events of April 19th 1995 in Oklahoma City took on the gestapo-like mentality that a conservative political enviroment results in terrorism. These are the very same people that wanted people like you and I to be subjected to round the clock goverment surveilence.
It was the lacadaisical performance of the Clinton-Gore Administration along with focus on the wrong group of people for goverment surveillance that led to 9/11.
President Bush knew better than X42. he knew that the real threat to National Security was not coming from christians and conservatives as some would like to think. Rather he knew that the threat was coming from people like Saddam Hussien, Al-Queida and the Islamic terrorists.
Several weeks ago after pointing out this reality, some Keith Olbermann butt-kisser came to this web site and proceded to say that just by pointing this out that it makes me guilty of fostering a harmful enviroment. As though somehow whatever the Democrats believe it must be true becuase after all they are as pure as the wind drive snow and can do no wrong and are never wrong about anything.
Goofballs like this are the reason why I choose to not reveal my idenity or where I live. Becuase if this goofball could he could send the men in black to my house to find out personal stuff about me. These are not very trustworthy people.
Actions like what happened in Washington last weekend give hope to those who seek to do more 9/11's. It's quite clear these people do not have our nation's best interest in their hands.
Their vested interests are (1) America losing the war on Terror and (2)America becoming a Jesus and conservative free zone, even if it means endangering innocent people in the process.
The bottom line here is these people need to be undermined and undercut as much as possible and preferably put out of business.
