Rudolph W. Giuliani, who developed a national reputation for decisive and reassuring leadership after 9/11, now faces the odd challenge of having to reassure some supporters that he can be decisive about a very different issue: running for president. Even as his fellow Republican John McCain and fellow New Yorker Hillary Rodham Clinton have all but formally declared their candidacies, Mr. Giuliani has proceeded more cautiously.

I think I asked for a yes or no answer, how hard is that?
OK lets try this, you just reply with a number:
1) Yes I will vote for Rudy
2) I will vote for the Democrat
3) I will vote for NO ONE
4) I will vote third party if available

Hey Spiff - how are you doing so far - fighting the evil homosexuals and preventing abortion? :-)

So, Spiff, you want to trash Rudy - but are feigning real emotion that Hunter might get the same? Out here in Utah we call that hypocricy. You miss the point entirely. Rudy is a liberal. Hunter is a conservative. Free Republic is dedicated to supporting conservatism and conservative candidates. It is also dedicated to fighting liberalism and liberal candidates. That's the difference. It is inappropriate to trash conservative here. If you must do that, go find a more suitable forum for your activities.

How how are things going in your effort to prevent abortion?
Btw, did you know that Rudy is NOT a social conservative? Did you know he wore a dress once? :-)

Rudy is a liberal. Rudy is supported by the GOP and always has been. What are you trying to tell us?

I am an atheist.
I do not like the dopers, the perverts, the gun-grabbers, the border crashers, the baby killers or the other filth.
I am voting on the issues, not for an empty suit with a fancy Madison Avenue designer label.
Rotting the country from the inside out does nothing for national security.

Admin moderator, please tell sunsong to stop harassing me with the same stupid line of questioning I have already answered.
I had requested the poster stop, but they have refused to. I didn't want to go this route, they played that hand.

Wrong. William F Buckley jr founded the modern conservative movement in the 1950`s. Barry Goldwater had the conservative cojones in 1964 to run for POTUS, but he didn't have the skills to get elected. Americans rejected him. Both advancing the conservative agenda and getting elected POTUS was left to the great Ronald Reagan. As we came to see, soon after Goldwater disappeared into obscurity, came the real facts about his so-called conservatism. Old Barry was actually a libertarian. Pro-choice, pro-gay rights and defender of William Jefferson Clinton. Old Barry also hated Nixon and Reagan. Goldwater hated social conservatism. Goldwater was usually out of step with what was right for America.

You forgot, Rudy has also been divorced!!! OMG, in an age where 50% of all marriages end in divorce God forbid a divorced man become POTUS.

I would say Barry Goldwater because the great founder of modern conservatism didn't think the federal government had the power or should regulate abortion or interfer in the lives of gays. He was also wary of the religious right and its influence on the GOP.
His natural Arizona libertarian streak, much as with McCain, leaned toward libertarian conservative positions. But you can in no way lump him in with the Rockefeller wing.
You dodge the issue: does Rudy support returning all decisions on abortion rights and sodomy rights to the states? Will he campaign vigorously and speak to those issues?
I'm thinking he doesn't and he won't.
After you explain how he'll handle that, tell us how he gets past the NRA and the GOA and all their motivated habitual one-issue voters.
To: Spiff
Rudy is a conservative. Show me where on the site it says that Spiff defines words for everyone.
What you are advocating is hypocricy. And tell me, how are you doing so far in preventing abortion. That's a very important issue to you, right?

I'd defend Hitler if the charge against him was having the nerve to fall asleep.
Hitler is evil because he killed 6 million Jews, not because he once fell asleep at work.
To: Fierce Allegiance
So, please answer the question. Why are you unwilling to discuss the abortion situation if you feel it is such an important issue? Is it important or not?
