Giuliani Is Cautious (indecisive?) as He Weighs ’08 Decision
NY Times ^ | SAM ROBERTS

Posted on 01/27/2007 2:26:06 PM PST by narses

Rudolph W. Giuliani, who developed a national reputation for decisive and reassuring leadership after 9/11, now faces the odd challenge of having to reassure some supporters that he can be decisive about a very different issue: running for president. Even as his fellow Republican John McCain and fellow New Yorker Hillary Rodham Clinton have all but formally declared their candidacies, Mr. Giuliani has proceeded more cautiously.

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

A person's ideology is totally separate from their qualifications.

I would say Barry Goldwater because the great founder of modern conservatism didn't think the federal government had the power or should regulate abortion or interfer in the lives of gays. He was also wary of the religious right and its influence on the GOP.

Why do you refuse to expose his anti-tax, fiscal displine, pro growth, anti government regulation, anti-union, pro school choice, pro America foreign policy, strong national defense, Iraq and WOT positions? I'm sure I could name more.

Those are positions any conservative should carry, and hunter does. It's the bad stuff about rudy tha makes him bad.

If it's not - then you are being dishonest.

Oh, get the hell out of here. That's crap and you know it. Stop being a retard on that issue. i know you are a better debater than pulling that stupidity. I am not the candidate, get it? I am not the issue here, and I have answered your question multiple times. Any more will be considered harassment, and you will not appreciate the repercussions.

Maybe you were so offended by my insults against communist Ruth Bader Ginsberg that you missed this part of that same post.

We know what a great job Rudy did at getting Bush to appoint his mobbed up, high school dropout, corrupt business partner Bernie Kerik to head the Department of Homeland Security. Giuliani earlier appointed Kerik to head the New York Police Department And we know how that all worked out. Kerik narrowly avoided jail, but he was convicted anyway.

In a quid pro quo for the New York Liberal Party's endorsement and support, Giuliani appointed Liberal Party Chairwoman Fran Reiter as Deputy Mayor.

He also appointed Russell Harding, the son of Giuliani's close friend Raymond Harding who also chaired the Liberal Party and was one of Giuliani's closest campaign advisers, to be the City Housing Director. Russell Harding had to leave office upon being arrested by federal law enforcement and charged with conspiracy, fraud, mail fraud, wire fraud, receiving child pornography, and possesing child pornography. He was using his official credit card to pay for personal items including a car, 'Sopranos' DVDs, and a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon. He later pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to 5 years in prison and forced to repay $367,000 he embezzled from the New York City.

Please explain how this kind of behavior as Mayor of NYC a.)instills confidence in Rudy's ability to govern and b.)demonstrates Rudy's "incredibly conservative positions and policies as mayor". I'll wait.

Oh, and by the way, I found that stuff in 10 minutes of using Google, looking for the right keywords. You can take it to the bank that the Democrats are going to trot out all kinds of stuff like that from Rudy's term as mayor because they have a multi-million dollar opposition research department. Rudy will NOT win the general election if he makes it there. His liberal views and behavior as mayor will split the Republican party, sending too many core voters away. The Democrats will use all the baggage from his term as Mayor to destroy him with possible crossover Dems and a good deal of Independents. Do the math. He can't win. We need to get behind one of the conservative or even somewhat moderate candidates and get him elected. Supporting a liberal like Giuliani - I know, you still want to hold onto all the myths that surround him, but you need to accept reality - will give the Democrats the White House in 2006. And, worse, it will destroy the Republican Party in the process.

..Would you vote for RUDY if he is the nominee? You know this is easy Y/N, circle one. I would certainly vote for Hunter if he is the nominee, we glee!...

You are kidding me? :) Do I write that badly?... I believe I said he is Unacceptable. I also said, that if Macaca or Guiliani wins, that would not be a "win" for me. Speaking for myself only here. Sorry.

LOL - apparently abortion is the mostest important issue on the entire planet- I mean it's just the mostest ever. But don't ask how things are going - that's not relevant :-)

Now you are getting nasty. I take it that you are NOT a Christian, right?

But I do ask again, why are you unwillling to discuss abortion - if it is such an important issue? As I say - if it is not worth discussing then you are being dishonest when you say it is an important issue.

It seems you are just supposed to bring up gays and abortion - but not talk about them. Only hatred is allowed. If you express your hatred - you are part of the club. But don't ask how their tactics are working - they get nasty at that point - or try to ignore you :-)

Rudy is anti-tax, pro fiscal discipline, pro growth, anti government regulation, anti-union, pro school choice, pro law and order, supports strict constructionist judges, pro America foreign policy, pro-Israel, strong on national defense, pro Iraq war and strongly supports the WOT. I'm sure I could name more. Please tell me how the POTUS and the federal government will eradicate gays and abortion.
