Definition: Push Poll: "A push poll is a political campaign technique in which an individual or organization attempts to influence or alter the view of respondents under the guise of conducting a poll. Push polls are generally viewed as a form of negative campaigning. The term is also sometimes used incorrectly to refer to legitimate polls which test political messages, some of which may be negative. Push polling has been condemned by the American Association of Political Consultants."Melissa Russo, political reporter for NBC's NYC affiliate WNBC, recently followed Rudy Giuliani up to New Hampshire. In her report on this morning's "Today," Russo stressed that at a GOP campaign stop, Giuliani failed to inform the Granite State Republicans that "he's far from a social conservative."
View video here.
So Russo decided to take it upon herself to inform them. Here's Russo interviewing a nice Republican lady:
Russo: "Did you know he was pro-choice, pro-gun control, pro gay rights?"
Nice Republican lady: "No-o-o-o."
Russo: "Would that affect your support for him?"
Nice Republican lady: "Ye-s-s."
Have a look again at that definition of push polling. Sound to you like Russo was engaging in it?

Rudy Giuliani keeps being called a Liberal and yet the GOP keeps helping him fund campaigns. I just don't understand.
And I keep being called a Liberal around here but sll the people I vote for in the booth have "R"s after theior name.
What's up with that?
He sure didn't know he was going to lose bigtime. I mean really BIG.
Now you know there are certain people around here who live to tell people here just who is and who isn't a "real, true" conservative.
Calling us liberals is just their latest (unoriginal) strawman chant.
I distinctly remember being assured repeatedly on this very forum by one of his staffers that he could pull it out.
I also remember continued questioning of that same staffer about when Keyes was going to pull the trigger and SPEND some of the money that was donated to him during that campaign cycle.
We're not TRUE liberals because we're not going to put homosexuals in jail.
You know... I think I remember the same thing.
It really does seem to bother some here that we don't go screaming from the room when the word "homosexual" is mentioned, doesn't it?
Only SPIFFY know that answer; thousands of other out here are smart enough to ignore him, but hey somebody has to do the dirty work.
The answer to the question, it turns out, was never.
That surprises me. Keyes has never had high positives .. even with Republicans.
His overbearing self righeousness and smugness crowds everything else out.
Then there's his grifting tendencies. Of course, the last is just my opinion.
They are a bunch of losers, that's all. One of the things they do best, when they run out of arguments, is to throw insults around ... so they feel better, lol.
You're right!
Keyes never had a chance, and evidently didn't care enough that his political stock would go even lower. Very bad.
I agree with your post.
Not according to his supporters, though.
Have a good weekend!
Denial isn't a river in Egypt.
You too!
