Rudy Giuliani is the favourite presidential candidate for Republican Party sympathizers in the United States, according to a poll by Opinion Research Corporation released by CNN. 32 per cent of respondents would support the former New York City mayor in a 2008 primary.
Arizona senator John McCain is second with 26 per cent, followed by former House of Representatives speaker Newt Gingrich with nine per cent, and former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney with seven per cent.
Support is lower for former Virginia governor Jim Gilmore, former New York governor George Pataki, Kansas senator Sam Brownback, Nebraska senator Chuck Hagel, former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, California congressman Duncan Hunter, Texas congressman Ron Paul, Colorado congressman Tom Tancredo, and former Wisconsin governor Tommy Thompson.
On Jan. 25, Tancredo called for the abolition of race-based caucuses, saying, "It is utterly hypocritical for Congress to extol the virtues of a colour-blind society while officially sanctioning caucuses that are based solely on raceand restrict their membership based on race."
In American elections, candidates require 270 votes in the Electoral College to win the White House. In November 2004, Bush earned a second term after securing 286 electoral votes from 31 states. Democratic nominee John Kerry received 252 electoral votes from 19 states and the District of Columbia.
Bush is ineligible for a third term in office. The next presidential election is scheduled for November 2008.

I'm a little unclear on what point you are trying to make with the FR poll. From what little I know about Hunter I like him but an FR poll has no more to do with who is going to get the nomination than a DU poll does.
Judging by what Bush has "accomplished", if he amd those like him are our only hope, we are finished. I think we can still fight and fight we will.
RINOS BE DAMNED AND FULL SPEED AHEAD.
A Nu Yawker will go to dinners put on by the most radical pro-aborts in the country and kiss their asses. Then he'll stand up and say "I'm a pro-abort and that makes me a better republican than you!".
A skilled politician can be pro-gay privilege but listen respectfully to the other side. A Nu Yawker will march in the front ranks of the gay pride day parade. Then he'll say if you don't agree with me on this GETAWDAHERE!
This crap will get you elected by Nu Yawkers. The rest of the country will watch and say "Thanks for applying for the job Rudi. We'll get back to ya."
Thank you very much. Most people hear should be aware that the current spelling of poling uses one too many l's.
So I guess pro-gay, pro-abortion Giuliani is toast.
Thanks for reminding me about the FACT that Giuliani will NEVER be president of the United States of America. He will sink like a stone in the primary, and even if he doesn't his multiple scandals, which will be highlighted to no end if he somehow wins the primary, would easily do him in.
Poor Giuliani fans are in for a real shock come January 20, 2009.
Go to Rudy's website if you dare. But you seem to be one who doesn't care about facts when they don't agree with your agenda.
You would probably just blow it off as Rudy merely telling us what we want to hear anyway.
But the Rudy I know, is strong as well as rigidly honest. He tells it like it is. Honest sometimes to a fault.
There were multiple scandals involving Bill Clinton and he won pretty damn easily.
BASH-ON Her' Isaac!
That's gonna leave a mark!
Draw your own conclusions.
"I sense anger in your reply and not many deep thoughts" - Jack Handy
Well you need to be an SNL fan to get it! By the way are you related to 'SPIFF'?
I think that spelling polling with one "l" means "to propel with pole."
Rigidly honest? Was he honest when he talked about paying for his daughter's abortion?
Like I said, honest sometimes to a fault.
But you would probably think that is a BAD thing. I see it as a strong indication of his good character.
Sorry fellas. I was busy painting a door. Here ya go!
Mentioning another freeper without pinging them is a violation of FR rules. You've been around long enough to know better.
Abortion Fits GOP Philosophy, Says Giuliani
By Jeff McKay

New York, N.Y. (CNSNews.com) - While the national Republican platform is decidedly pro-life and has been for the past two decades, the GOP mayor of the nation's largest city believes his party's philosophical underpinnings are more in tune with the pro-abortion point of view.
New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani said favoring the availability of abortion is "more consistent with the philosophy of the Republican Party."
Giuliani made his eyebrow-raising remarks at an awards luncheon April 6 sponsored by the National Abortion Rights Action League in New York City, a leading abortion group.
Welcome back to the fray!
Could you please provide a link to any quotes he's made in regards to this?
