WASHINGTON - Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback said Thursday he would not support a resolution drafted by Democrats opposing President Bush's Iraq plan, but he could back a rival proposal that contains less partisan language.
Brownback, among the first Republican lawmakers to publicly break with the president over a troop increase in Iraq, said the resolution approved this week by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee is too divisive.
"I think what we ought to be discussing now as these resolutions move forward is what we should support, not what we're opposed to, and what we can pull together on, not what we're divided on," Brownback said during a conference call with reporters.

Guess the cozy pseudo senatorial clubbiness really got to him...he has FORGOTTEN he represents a state that supports our troops.
Either support the war or vote to cut off funds and end it.
I can respect either position, although I disagree with cutting off funds.
To do neither and support a nonbinding resolution is an act of cowardice that all voters should view with the utmost contempt.

When you are done calling and writing, start over, and ask your friends to do so as well, beginning with the pledge.
I don't know what these senators are thinking this morning, but they clearly haven't been listening to you. No debate will begin or vote be taken until next week, so invest some time in supporting the troops by bringing clarity to these senators: You can't win a war by encouraging the enemy and undercutting the commander on the ground in Iraq or the Commander-in-Chief in the White House. Not to understand that is a great way to send an unreversable message to core supporters that their time and money is best spent elsewhere.

The issue is not "partisan language" these senators are pathetic.
When you write, call him by his first name, none of that Sen stuff.
