My aunt and uncle sent this out to our family at 6:30 AM today. Carrie is my young cousin, a very gifted artist, and the second eldest among her siblings. She and her family are in Michigan.
Prayer reqeust from my aunt and uncle (Carrie is their granddaughter).
This morning on her way to work Carrie's car slid on the highway and into a tree. She has very bad injuries, especially to her head. Her brain is swelling and she is now in surgery. They plan to open her skull to allow for the swelling, and she is not responding.They don't give her parents a lot of hope. We are telling everyone so you can join us in praying for our dear Caroline. They called her parents about 7:45 this morning and they're at the hospital now.

Thank goodness there are so many loving people around to help. One of St. Francis of Assisi's bits of wisdom is, "Labore et orare." "To work is to pray." Carrie and your family are being bathed in all manner of wonderful prayers. :-D
Every day is looking like a step forward, doesn't it? We will continue to pray for His healing. As I said before, He has still more work for her on this earth. Her family's faith is an inspiration - May God bless and keep you all.

Gretchen, thank you so much for keeping us all updated. My husband and I have been praying for your niece and will continue to do so. Today will be a rough day if they are taking her off the vent and other machines. She will be in my prayers.

Thank God it's only a fracture, it will heal so much faster. Carrie is still in my prayers and will remain there until she is fully recovered.
