My aunt and uncle sent this out to our family at 6:30 AM today. Carrie is my young cousin, a very gifted artist, and the second eldest among her siblings. She and her family are in Michigan.
Prayer reqeust from my aunt and uncle (Carrie is their granddaughter).
This morning on her way to work Carrie's car slid on the highway and into a tree. She has very bad injuries, especially to her head. Her brain is swelling and she is now in surgery. They plan to open her skull to allow for the swelling, and she is not responding. They don't give her parents a lot of hope. We are telling everyone so you can join us in praying for our dear Caroline. They called her parents about 7:45 this morning and they're at the hospital now.
Will continue heartfelt prayers on behalf of your whole family.
prayer bttt
We are grateful for signs of progress, and yet we remain confident that even in their absence, Your works of healing are taking place. We confess that we walk by faith and not by sight, and we proclaim Your sovereign power over all circumstances. Thank You, Father, for bringing this family together to support those in need and to gather round their loved one. May Your grace be sufficient in all that they encounter as they wait with patience for Your complete healing of Carrie. We exalt Your holiness and majesty in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Thanks for the update, Gretchen. Carrie continues to be in my prayers.
I continue to keep Carrie in my prayers.
Things are looking up, just as we all are! I loved Carrie's sister's description: "She looks like a little angel with the scrub hat on and her skin is so glowing soft. She looks peaceful."
When they start to bring her out of the coma, she will need a lot of grace to deal with the awakening, the knowledge of what happened, the physical pain, current incapacities, etc. I am so grateful to all on FR who have adopted her into their hearts and prayers.
Carrie you in our hearts - which are in God's.
Thanks for the bttt.
Prayers continue for your cousin.
Continuing in prayer. Thank you for the updates!
thank you Gretchen for this update.I will continue to pray for Carrie. It is God who has " knit Carrie" together.
Polly
Thank you for the update. Prayers continuing for this young woman and her family!
Sounds hopeful!! Thanks for the update and our prayers continue for Carrie and your family.
Last night the nurses were not able to detect any reflex when they shined the flashlight in her pupils. Tonight they were!!!! Thank you for your prayers.Last night's news was disheartening, you can imagine. Tonight we have even more hope! Her pupils are still quite different sizes, however, the nurse confirmed that it is very likely due to the amount of drugs in Carrie.
Her incision in her head is doing well, not leaking (is that the right word?) and the incision in her stomach as well is doing perfectly - they were able to take the dressings off of that area and staple the incision.
Please continue to pray for full brain function. She's working on a drawing for me and she's not done yet!
The nurses have commented that Carrie must be well loved, that they feel the love from the family and friends.
I will keep Carrie in my prayers.
I know that flashlight test from experience in my family so I am just thrilled to read of her responsiveness tonight. That is very good news. Continued prayers for Carrie and the family.
