HUNT BLAMES JFK HIT ON LBJ
the New York POST ^ | January 14, 2007 | staff

Posted on 01/24/2007 10:56:10 AM PST by archy

Only the most far-out conspiracy theorists believe in scenarios like Hunt's. But in a new memoir, "American Spy: My Secret History in the CIA, Watergate & Beyond," due out in April, Hunt, 88, writes: "Having Kennedy liquidated, thus elevating himself to the presidency without having to work for it himself, could have been a very tempting and logical move on Johnson's part.

"LBJ had the money and the connections to manipulate the scenario in Dallas and is on record as having convinced JFK to make the appearance in the first place. He further tried unsuccessfully to engineer the passengers of each vehicle, trying to get his good buddy, Gov. [John] Connolly, to ride with him instead of in JFK's car - where . . . he would have been out of danger."

I would never believe that creep would do anything out good motives. At best he would be looking for a place in history books.

Motive + opportunity.

Motive, MEANS and opportunity.

And very careful compartmentalization so that seperate players get no overall look at the big picture, along with enough redundancy to prevent some single circumstance from throwing any monkey wrench in the works.

But if successful, the players get control of the country, and eventually the entire world. And participants LBJ, Nixon, Ford and Bush Senior got to play president for a while.

"That's the book I was talking about in my other post."

It's available on 'amazon.com' for those who are interested. The shipping will cost you more than the book, but it's a paperback, not a hardcover (at least mine is).

I don't think that Hunt was the one who originated that thought. You gotta remember that when Johnson was Pres. in the middle of the Vietnam war, the hippies thought he was the devil, much like the DUMMIES think Bush is the devil.

LBJ was legendary in Texas politics for his sociopathic ruthlessness WAY before he ever ran for president. LBJ once told one of his people to start a rumor of beastiality about one of his opponents. His sneer was, "Let the SOB try to deny it!"

He was on the Kennedy ticket only because of the votes he could deliver, and, after the election, the Camalot bunch shoved him as far out of the loop as they could. The idea that LBJ could set up JFK for a bullet is not near as nutty as some things I've heard.

Better this nutjob than the freaks who insist the President was in on the WTC attack.

LBJ's WIFE had money, not LBJ himself.

LBJ sheltered all his ill-gotten gains in his wife's name - basically an early version of Whitewater.

LBJ's WIFE had money, not LBJ himself.--

If I recall correctly, LBJ's wife also owns about 500,000 shares of HALLIBURTON...

LBJ had a LOT of money after he left the presidency, IIRC.......

he was a Clinton type..maybe smoother with his "good ol boy" mannerisms, as compared to Clinton's "good ol mama boy" mannerisms....

At the time Kennedy was killed my Dad said, "Well, Johnson wanted to be president awfully bad."

My father made a similar statement at the time. It was believable at the time and still is. Johnson was a completely ruthless political animal and such an act was certainly not beyond his capabilities.

A good friend from TX (now deceased) was politically well-connected, including being personally acquainted with Lady Bird's press secretary, spending time at the White House, etc. He would talk to me openly on virtually any subject, but when I asked him (in the early 70's) what he thought about LBJ's possible involvement in the assassination, he immediately got a stony look on his face and wouldn't speak until the subject was changed. FWIW...

"LBJ was legendary in Texas politics for his sociopathic ruthlessness WAY before he ever ran for president."

Yep, the label "Landslide Lyndon" wasn't a compliment.

The book goes into the various political murders that benefitted Johnson in TX before it gets to the Kennnedy assassination.

Here's a picture of 'the wink' that Johnson got from Cong. Albert Thomas on Air Force I at his swearing in. Quite enlightening.

Johnson was a coward and for that and many other reasons it was beyond his capabilities. Ya know Oswald just mighta done it.

It may have been her money that got him into Washington, but I am sure he paid back that investment back many times over with the money he 'earned' and received while in Washington.

Her money didn't get him to Washington. She "made" her money in owning radio stations after he was in. I don't remember the details, but his connections somehow got her favorable treatment. There's a biography called "LBJ - Means of Ascent" (I think) that covers it pretty well....

Not that facts make much of a difference on these conspiracy threads, but Lady Bird didn't become a shareholder in Halliburton until after JFK's death.

For a moment I thought he'd be blaming Bush.

I saw a website that claimed GHWB was in Dallas that day.
