I thought other Freepers might enjoy these.

This was my first time attending the march, I was impressed by three things: (1) the size of the crowd, (2) the youthfulness of the crowd, and (3) the fact that most of the people at the march were female. Bad news for the feminists.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is the significance of all the orange and green, if any. Was it just different groups trying to identify their fellow members so they wouldn't get lost or has the march as a whole adopted a color scheme?

Glad you enjoyed it!

I go down every year for an hour or two (I work in the area). Always very inspiring.

And a HUGE difference from when the feminazis descend. This crowd is always happy and upbeat. Also, the police don't don riot gear when the March for Life is in town.

Yup, I think your guess is right - there are so many people and it is easy for larger groups to get separated. The school groups in particular tended to do this. Some had scarlet hats, other had prominantely displayed stickers, etc...

Duncan Hunter attended and spoke at the march. Hunter has introduced legislation in this regard.

H.R.552 : To implement equal protection under the 14th article of amendment to the Constitution for the right to life of each born and preborn human person.
Sponsor: Rep Hunter, Duncan [CA-52] (introduced 2/2/2005)

http://www.lifenews.com/nat2895.html

Rep. Hunter promised pro-life advocates that he would have a pro-life litmus test when it comes to the appointment of federal judges.

"If we have a judicial applicant, a judicial nominee who can look at a sonogram of an unborn child and not see the value of human life ... if I should become president of the United States, he will not receive a judicial appointment," Hunter said.

“I tell you what you he will receive, he will get an appointment with an optometrist so he can get a pair of eye glasses," Hunter added.

The two candidates also attended a meeting of pro-life bloggers and offered similar comments.

Nice pictures !!

I participated in the March in San Francisco (the belly of the beast!!). I think we had nicer weather, judging by your photos!! Sunny and in the upper 50's. There were a few "San Francisco-types" shrieking on the fringes, but not nearly as many as last year. All in all, like your event, it was very well attended (the SF Chronicle quoted one of the organizers as saying there were about 20,000 on the March in SF).

Let me guess...all the papers had stories on page nine titled, "Dozens Marched..."

Not inaccurate, technically, but certainly deceitful.

Good turnout.

The sad thing is that the pro abortion marches always tend to bring out so much more people - a lot more people and all the media - I don't think our crowd was that big.

I don't think our crowd was that big.

And Rome wasn't built in a day, either. You start somewhere and move forward.

Thanks for posting these pictures!

I've attended the March several times, but was unable to attend this year. As usual, the MSM had virtually no coverage of it. (I did see a short report on Brit Hume's show.) The size of the crowd and age-range of those in attendance surprised me the first time I went also. Perhaps that's why the MSM does NOT cover it.

Thanks for attending and for posting the pictures and report.
