If we have any conservatives remaining in congress and the senate it should be DOA. A tax increase is a tax increase no matter what you hang on it to make it seem acceptable.

I am just so proud of our President and pray that his burden is never more than he can bear.
I think that's a fair assessment, and a good look at the total dysfunction in our elected government. You have a city of people more interested in scoring debating points and securing personal power than in serving their nation, constituents or the US Constitution. And that applies to both parties.
If a private company tried to run itself in this fashion it wouldn't last a year.
Why are you still here flaglady? Go'wan now - Git!
It took me a year to learn how to type and use a comupter
Since we are both old farts I will apologize ...but just barely
I have a HSA and it works very well for me! I love it!
My insurance plan is quite good, and I'm pretty sure I'd be one of those who would have my taxes increase under the plan.
My personal opinion is that we shouldn't have employer-sponsored health care plans. People should buy their own plans, that way the people USING the plans would choose them, and there would be a better connection between costs and use.
I think republicans should be for lower taxes, and fewer targetted tax breaks. Health care should not get special treatment, but if it is we should control the amount of special treatment given so as to spread out the benefits to a larger class of people.
Right now, if you don't have employee health care, you pay for your health care with post-tax dollars. If I have to pay taxes on some of what my employee PAYS me that I direct to health care insurance so that others can get the same tax break for purchasing their own health insurance, that seems a fair thing to do. Tax breaks SHOULD be as widely available as possible, and applied as broadly as possible.
But if the specific implementation isn't what you like, we can at least have a serious debate about the issue, rather than just be all huffy about losing our special tax breaks. At least that's how I feel about it.
You may be right. We'll just have to wait and see. I'm supporting a conservative who is pro gun, pro life and anti illegal immigration.
What a great find... thanks for sharing it.
My husband said she was signaling the terrorists w/those blinks.
I thought somebody should have tossed her some dental floss.
Yes he did, a Democrat too. Amazing.
That's Senator James Webb...
