Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
I already know. I don't need an excuse at this point.
Don't hold yer breath. Judging from the results of the trial run held in New Orleans in 2005, it's as I have always maintained: 99.99999% of all gunowners when faced with an official demand from an armed presence like the police or military will meekly roll over and say: Here, TAKE my guns. Just PLEASE don't hurt me or my family!
It's all very easy to be full of bravado on this but think of Vickie Weaver shot dead by an FBI sniper while holding a new born in her arms. Lon Horiuchi was the sniper and he was later exonerated in a FEDERAL COURT after being indicted in an Idaho state court.
How do you make up your mind on a subject that has so many variables? After Katrina when the gun grab began, I would be thinking that this wasn't THE END. I'd be thinking that after the disaster, order would return and I'd have a chance to get my guns back. My wife would be safe and not a widow. OTOH....if a FEDERAL GUN CONFISCATION BILL IS PASSED....then it begins to look like the last stand at the Alamo. Once a law goes into effect that does not have a sunset provision (like the old AWB) it's pretty much there forever. IF it were really enforced a whole new set of decisions would have to be made.
