As Dan Balz and I wrote in today's Post, presidential candidates on both sides are focused heavily on bolstering their Internet presence through a variety of new tools, including video, podcasts and even online video chats.
To brainstorm and implement these new innovations, the campaigns are chasing after a small group of people in their 20s and early 30s versed in the language of the new media.
One of the real "gets" on the GOP side of that world is Patrick Ruffini, who served as the Web master of President Bush's 2004 reelection campaign and then served in a similar role at the Republican National Committee. Ruffini gained recognition in national Republican circles for his blog, which was one of the first serious attempts on the Republican side at building an online community.
Ruffini has signed on with former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani's presidential campaign as an e-campaign adviser. The hiring is only the latest sign that Giuliani is serious about a run for national office in 2008.
In building a national staff, Giuliani has recruited a number of former Bush operatives to his cause -- the latest being Brent Seaborn, who will be the director of strategy for the campaign. Seaborn was intimately involved in the microtargeting efforts credited with growing the number of Republican votes for Bush in 2004. Seaborn was a co-founder of TargetPoint Consulting, which specialized in microtargeting and data mining.

Then go ahead and vote for Hillary or third party we really don't care.
There will be malcontents who will pout and stay home but I see Rudy winning this thing......and whipping Hillary or Obama like a government mule.
He will even take CA.
I am not going to vote for a hardcore liberal, no matter what party they are in. If that means going third party, so be it. But this is why I am supporting Duncan Hunter at this stage.
BUMP!
Are there others? Certainly. Both parties have scores of people who will be trying to win their parties nomination. We will also have dozens of other parties with candidates. Our current two-party system has insured that nobody outside of their parties has a legitimate chance at getting elected President.
And why not? There's nothing they favor out in SanFransicko that he doesn't endorse. I'd sooner see Nancy Pelosi take the White House.
Good grief. How about Hillary?
I am not trying to teach any lesson. I just decided that I will only vote for conservatives. If there is not one to vote for in the 2 parties I will go third party or sit out that race. If you vote for the lessor of two evils you still get evil.
I'd sooner see Nancy Pelosi take the White House.
Try doing some research on Rudy. He totally cleaned up the city. Got rid of organized crime, porn shops, and gang bangers. He risked his life on 9/11 and emerged as a true leader. He completely supports the war on terror and he's fiscally conservative. No "socially" conservative candidate is going to get elected at this point in time. Can you name one conservative Republican who seriously has a chance? If we had the perfect electable candidate don't you think most us here would throw their support in that direction?
If enough conservatives do what you intend, Hillary Clinton will be the Leader of the Free World. Remember what damage Bill did during the 8 years he was in office (and if Hillary comes back, he will come back). Remember how the law got trashed, remember how many military men died needlessly (Somalia springs to mind). Read Unlimited Access and Hell to Pay and understand what kind of evil that you refuse to stand against, and do what is effective to stop it. You're useless in this struggle, a bottom feeder, the silly little bleeder who is going to hold his breath until he turns blue unless he gets absolutely everything he wants from his Presidential candidate. Giuliani is not perfect, but he is not Hillary, and that is better than what Hillary is.
In the space allotted to you, crank that rusty matter between your ears into motion and realise that stopping Hillary is necessary, but if you're nuts enough to be happy she'll have the power to blow up the world, go right ahead on your third party kamikaze run.
Here endeth anything I have to do with you. Bye.
Ivan
On most of the major issues I care about, gun control, trade, the border, abortion, gays Hitlery and Rino Rudy have similiar if not identical views. Polar opposite of mine. That is why I will not ever offer any support to either one of them
Thanks
And those 40-50 million gun owners are going to sit on their hands and let Her Heinous become President? I don't believe the vast majority of gunowners are either that stupid or that parochial.
Bravo, Ivan! Bravo!
Well Duncan Hunter is a real leader and he is bringing those conservatives ready to walk on the party home...
I was ready to vote for Buchanan in 2000 in the primaries of 2000 until I started hearing from Bush. I was convinced and I came back.
I think Duncan can do that for us again if he gains enough of a platform.
Your great post is lost on the poster, but WOO-HOO!
Regards, Ivan
