I found no new photos of the president today but there are some photos of Laura in Paris, at the conference on Missing and Exploited Children. As Tony Snow's assistant conducted the press briefing today, and the State of the Union address is next Tuesday, January 23rd at 9:00 PM EST, it seems likely it is crunch time for getting the address ready.
Defense Secretary Gates continues his visit to Iraq, in Basra and Talil, where he is being briefed.
Jay Hein, Director of the WH Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, discussed the President's compassion agenda and the recently launched Compassion in Action Roundtables.
Text of Dana Perino's press briefing today (information on SoTU).

You weren't one of the provocateurs for the request to keep the place clean. Was I? I let the d-word slip a couple weeks ago.

A Christmas Story is one of my favorite movies...
Best part is "I Double Dog dare ya,"

Hiya Jonny, you are most welcome.
I think, with all the recent changes, it might be beneficial to the Islanders to see a rundown of who has which day/s.
Sat-Sun Wolfstar
Monday snugs
Tuesday Just a Nobody
Wednesday onyx
Thursday snugs
Friday GretchenM
BTW, my friend who swapped out the Apple Strudel bread to give you a fresher loaf was very happy to have an extra set of strudel slices to indulge in.

Yes, having the certification will be a help. I'll just have to trust that the Lord will get me where he wants me!

and chances are the ones who maybe are the ones will not be around tonight for one reason or another.
We have had to handle this sort of thing on the singles thread & I have found that it is easiest just to confront them individually by FReepmail. Some are good about it and some pack up their marbles & disappear.
Each thread has it's standards & all of us need to be in the general FR guidelines that JimRob has established. If we want gutter talk there are a lot of forums that are available I am sure
sigh

"I Double Dog dare ya," I love the part when Ralphie says his friend made a slight breach in protocol by skipping one "dare" and advancing to the next higher level.
My favorite line (and there are so many to choose from!) was when grown Ralphie, as narrator, described the cloud of his father's frustrated furnace-fixing dialogue that was, for all they knew, still hanging somewhere over Lake Michigan.
I never fail to laugh out loud when the Chinese restauranteur whips out his cleaver and whacks off the neck of the "Chinese turkey" right in front of the family, at the table.

I am the proud owner of both thuds and I should have used the slower one, which is a more accurate representation of what happens when I'm around Dove. It's like I moved to Australia and became a layabout when I'm around that stuff. I didn't know I was allergic to it till I was staying at my father and stepmother's house. She uses it and I had a three-day migraine, one of the worst I've ever had, till I figured out that the headache got worse whenever I got closer to the bathroom. I wanted to throw that thing in the garbage (outside) but had to settle for having her wrap it in aluminum foil. Still, DoveSpores© escaped and I never felt right the whole time I was there, especially after she unwrapped the soap to use it. If she had the migraine I had, she would have changed soaps for the duration of the visit.

***I got to work this morning and gotYourse case of shakes I've ever had. Worked through it but I can tell this has really stressed me.***
You sounded so calm about sitting in the kitchen (mostly) for four days, that I wondered how you did it. I had six days in the family room with a small wood burner for the only heat in the whole house. It took a while to feel normal again.
