I found no new photos of the president today but there are some photos of Laura in Paris, at the conference on Missing and Exploited Children. As Tony Snow's assistant conducted the press briefing today, and the State of the Union address is next Tuesday, January 23rd at 9:00 PM EST, it seems likely it is crunch time for getting the address ready.
Defense Secretary Gates continues his visit to Iraq, in Basra and Talil, where he is being briefed.
Jay Hein, Director of the WH Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, discussed the President's compassion agenda and the recently launched Compassion in Action Roundtables.
Text of Dana Perino's press briefing today (information on SoTU).

***Lol! Maybe the cat wanted to talk to someone... :)***
You think? Naw. He didn't even have the good manners to meow at me when he heard my voice.
The REALLY annoying thing was that *I* was the one who bought my daughter a phone with an instant redial. STUPID idea.

She said we couldn't be mad at her cat because it was the very first long distance call he'd ever made. ROFLMBO!!! Four times. Yikes!

A little confused here. Why is 'political discussion' not welcomed on the Dose?
We do it all the time. What did I miss?

A little confused here. Why is 'political discussion' not welcomed on the Dose? We do it all the time. What did I miss?It was the kind of political discussion that has never been welcome on the Dose as far as I know. It was also on the edge of getting a bit heated. I think Bear was right in asking that the post be deleted. They are handling the matter privately.

I think because part of it was a bit critical of the President and we tend to keep that part of political discussion off the dose.
If we do not then IMHO we are on thin ice asking those who come here to disrupt to go and cease posting citical comments if we have done similar however mild the criticism.
It is a difficult one because if we are not careful it does make the dose a hero worship thread which we are accused of.
I think maybe just an occasional do not agree with all policies but not going into details is a good thing as it gives balance to the thread and makes people realise they can come and visit and even post on the dose even if it is well known on FR that they are not 110 per cent in favour of everything the President does.
The thread IMHO is intended to show what he is doing and those in his admin are doing in carrying out his policies but that does not mean we have to always totally agree but heavy criticism is not the place of this thread.
IMHO I think though it is quite OK to say if a set of photos on x have been posted I appreciate this is his policy and he is sincere in it and believes it is correct but I do not agree with it 100 per cent. However any further discussion IMHO should be on other threads which no doubt will be covering whatever it is.

NICE photos. Thank you, ((( Wolfstar )))Hi onyx. BTW, thanks for your ping to let me know that dishonest troll I responded to earlier has been banned. All someone like that has to do is take a positive story, put their own negative spin on it, and then too many FReepers are off to the races dissing the President for no reason. Makes me sick.
I am absolutely 100% convinced that at least some of those people are paid operatives from the Dems or their big dollar supporters.
