Oh crud, that's only about a half hour from where I grew up. Keep us up to date, please.

Diverting southbound flights - - I assume out of SDF. They don't know what is burning.

I'd imagine the winds are blowing the smoke to the east?

As I remember, Jim Beam and Burnheim Forest are close by?

Video shows I-65 just to the east and traffic was still moving. Don't know about now. If they don't know what is burning I suspect they'll close the interstate.

SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. - Several train cars derailed and were on fire Tuesday south of Louisville, prompting authorities to take steps to shut down a busy interstate.

"We had a train derailment with some type of an explosion," said Kentucky State Police dispatcher Joey Mattingly.

There were no immediate reports of injuries from the wreck that occurred about 8:50 a.m. EST, he said.

Television footage showed the wrecked train and flames that produced a huge column of black smoke. At least one fire pumper truck was working to extinguish the fire.

Authorities were preparing to shut down a portion of Interstate 65, Mattingly said.

He said he wasn't sure what was aboard the train.

I know that's not funny but when I was stationed at Knox and lived in Valley Station, loose barges seemed to be an everyday thing.
