Well, this is the first season I have watched it as it was broadcast. I have watched the first three seasons on DVD.

However, as near as I can tell, after two democrat presidents with appropriately PC aides, in 24-world the USA is now suffering terrorist attacks every day, the democrat Chief of Staff (who looks like Bill Kristol) is trying to set up concentration camps, the Chinese are up to something, and this was the first detonation of FIVE nuclear devices which were brought into the US.

While some people are carping that the show haas moved left, it appears to me we are seeing the alternate universe if Gore had won the election in 2000.

Agreed. I was surprised at the "24 has become too liberal" As far as I'm concerned, this message of appeasement = danger to the American people is exactly what conservatives have been saying for years. I stopped trying to predict who they are basing characters on in real life...it just won't fit into any particular consistent model.

Good point. I am still thankful Gore lost that election. Just hope that 2008 doesn't bring us Hillary or Barak!

The depiction of the prez's sister, the oh so holier than thou civil rights lawyer, was chilling in its accuracy.

Her 'cause' was more important to her than the country.

That rings a loud bell.

I don't think it's moved left at all. The writing is subtle, but very appropriate.

BTW there is a poll about this at the link... so far the pro-24-side is winning.

I hadn't thought of that, but boy, is that right on the mark!

Almost correct. Also notice that president pansie thinks there is no choice but to meet terrorist demands, and will do anything for the barest smidgen of a possibility of "peace" - when there is no peace?

The striking thing about 24 is that the most hawkish people portrayed on it are out and out wushes, and every time someone is more concerned about the situation - as they ought to be - they are portrayed as scheming, unstable, semi-suicidal retards.
