Okay, broke my boycott and am watching Media Watch, or whatever they call this thing. Jane whatsername agrees with Gabler that the media are not interviewing enough opposing generals and IRS members and whoever who does not agree with the President's change in approach. Why does she not suggest they interview a few who do agree? (I hope I am not misrepresenting what she said. I don't think I am.)

Just for the record, the press is only reporting negatively on the President's plan for Iraq because they are following the mood of the "people." Cal Thomas trys to point out that the media has worked hard to create this negativity, but isn't very successful in his attempt.
Gabler should stop with the Nazi Pelosi finger in the air thing and try to show less of his teeth which take up one third of his face.

There are some days I wish a Republican would stand up and do the same thing X-42 did to Chris Wallace on FNS. Get right in the face of one of the Sunday morning talk show hosts and say, "Now that you have done your little liberal hit job on me, can I ask you a question? Have you ever voted for a Republican in your life?"
After that, tell the host that he/she will NEVER again appear on another DBM Sunday talk show and tell all other Republicans to do the same.
I hope to be able to get to Church tomorrow, as I am an usher. I think I'll leave the tube off. I am sick of the liberal media.

Preview and Analysis for Weeked of January 13th and 14th, 2007
Very late and abbreviated posting this week. I've had troubles (really mostly discomfort and annoyance) with the stitches for my corneal transplant this week, so my reading and writing time is restricted to short bursts. I'm sure that this just breaks your collective hearts!
Maybe this is a good thing?
Anyway, here's my 3 cents (my 2 cents is worth more than most people's so I'm adjusting for the inflation of my ego).
Ironically this weeks shows are much more interesting and serious than they have been since the elections. We've all complained about the repetitious booking of non-entity guests, but I think that's largely not a problem this week. We get dueling saints (McCcain and Obama) on CBS FTN, but I actually want to hear them go toe to toe on the topics we're wrestling with. I'm glad that CNN has finally acknowledged that Mitch McConnell exists and it will be nice if they recognize that he is the actual senior Republican in the Senate (I doubt it). Levin is a moron but Wolfie will probably treat him with kid gloves. I assume it's too much to ask for them to put him on at the same time as Mitch? Nah. They don't have the guts.
Hadley carries the administrations message this weekend on both ABC and NBC. We'll see if he can get past the leaked memo critical of Maliki, which seems to be the only thing that the DBM seems to be interested in. Murtha is the Dhimmicrat of choice on Steponallofus' show on ABC. Do you think he'll ask any inconvenient questions about ABSCAM or the PAID "charity" scandals? I'm taking bets and have no doubt I'll clean up.
Fox has Cheney, but the promo material is totally one sided and disgustingly partisan. I'm betting daddy Wallace has taken Lil' Chrissy to the wood shed and instructed him to toe the party line more closely. Or do you suppose uncle Ben (Bradley) did the scolding? At least Brit is back on the panel and can smack down Juan. Interesting that the DBM is launching a sex scandal whisper campaign against him just now. I guess he was getting to upppity for a non-leftist.
MTP has an interesting set up with (presidential candidate) Dodd and RINO Hagel versus Republican Kyl and that Jew independent Lieberman. I'm relatively pleased with Kyl but really like Lieberman best of these four on the WOT. Who'd a thunk it?
All in all an interesting week, certainly lots more potential than last weeks line up (ugh!). And we must all praise the bookers for leaving Biden and Graham out of the mix this week. Thank you, gentlemen!
Oh, and most of the Saturday shows have already happened as I post this (I didn't watch them, I was working on this) but I'm betting I didn't miss much (JER is still to come, so I'm looking forward to that).
This will (probably) be cross posted to my blog at Wizards.townhall.com (sometime Sunday). This post exists primarily as a heads up for who is on the weekend talks shows, what they've been invited on to push (based on their recent pronouncements) and the spin (meme) the DBM is likely trying to push based on that information. All of this is prep work for the weekly Sunday Morning Talk Show thread posted by Alas Babylon!. That thread provides a live commentary and analysis of the Sunday talking head shows, with rare insight and exceptional fact checking. we are the Jedi Council of FreeRepublic, at least in regards to these DBM gabfests. You wanna know what was said and what it meant, as well as where they messed up? Read that thread!
Mark Kilmer has posted his excellent Sunday preview over at RedState.COM.

this is still the recovery from the transplant the day after Thanksgiving. My surgeon put in 16 stitches and the first of those came loose within the last 10 days or so. These will be unraveling or "popping" on a regular basis for the next several months. I had some stitches left from my surgery in 2003 until early 2006. This next visit on the 27th is meant to pull a few more of them and to use others to try to "tension" my cornea and make it flatter (kind of like working on a drum head). It's not a fun process but, as procedures go that surgeons like this do, it's no big deal.
Every time I go to his offices I remember the phrase "I cried because I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet." Compared to many of his patients I'm not having any problems at all.
I'm getting ready for bed now and plan to try to NOT do much on the thread tomorrow. Wanna bet how successful I am ;^>
