The White House and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice yesterday accused Democrats of suggesting that the secretary's childlessness, race and sex are to blame for mistakes in Iraq.
White House spokesman Tony Snow said Sen. Barbara Boxer's comments that Miss Rice won't "pay the price" for her decisions in the Iraq war because she is unmarried and without children was a "great leap backward for feminism."
"I don't know if she was intentionally that tacky, but I do think it's outrageous," he told Fox News. "Here you've got a professional woman, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, and Barbara Boxer is sort of throwing little jabs because Condi doesn't have children, as if that means that she doesn't understand the concerns of parents."
But Mrs. Boxer and Democrats are making no apologies.
Rep. Neil Abercrombie of Hawaii called Miss Rice "the most overrated, underperforming individual in executive authority that I have ever seen."
"She constantly gets a pass," he told the Honolulu Star Bulletin this week, days before the nation celebrates Martin Luther King Day. "Who knows if the whole question of race and gender come into it, but ... I can't account for it, except to say she isn't up to the mark."
But it was Mrs. Boxer's remarks about Miss Rice that generated the most outrage yesterday.

You are correct..This is rage provoked by extreme envy of someone so far and away more accomplished and successful than any of her persecutors, not to mention her artistic ability (concert level pianist)...Put any of these leftist bullies out on the street and tell them to get a real job and then see how many of them could accomplish that without their cronies. Condi can get a top level job, not because of politics, but because she is EDUCATED and EXPERIENCED beyond what a common mind can be. The political world can claim a few Statesmen. However, most politicians simply are commonplace "charmers"..Condi came into this world extraordinarily blessed by her Maker and if I were Boxer (a good name for a bully), I would be careful about kicking around someone so favored by a higher power.

I called Biden's office instead of Boxer's (actually I tried to call Boxer, but they wouldn't pick up the phone). I requested that Biden, as chair of the committee, is required to issue a formal apology for the behavior of his senatorial staff. And that if he did not offer an official apology, that I would conclude that he approves of personal attacks on witnesses. They said they would pass on my request. HA

Actually Abercrombie's comments fit Boxer perfectly!
think I will call Project 21 and ask them if they are going to be making a statement about Abercrombie.
Further, they cannot allow blacks to think that it's possible to get ahead in America without an increase in the minimum wage.
I once asked a neighbor, the highest female exec in America at the time.....and a committed lib......why she thought black children couldn't learn in school unless they were sitting next to a white child.
She just looked at me in amazement at the very concept. Admitted she never thought of it that way.
I didn't bother to ask her support her liberal-ness. It's hopeless!

Upon more reflection, it also occurred to me that Rep. Abercrombie's comment is pretty funny coming from the party of Barack Obama.

At least Boxer didn't ask Condi if she ever was tough enough to abort a child.
