TOKYO -- Japan's Meteorological Agency issued tsunami warnings Saturday following a magnitude 8.3 earthquake in the Pacific Ocean.
The agency says a 3.3-foot-high tsunami could hit the northeastern coast of Japan's northern island of Hokkaido around 2 p.m. (12 a.m. EST).
That should be hitting by now then. We'll be hearing news one way or the other soon.
If a tsunami, the waves will most likely reach Hawaii about 5:15AM ET, Saturday.
