Weather channel now saying there is NO tsunami expected for the west coast of America.
I'm glad - because I'm in San Diego - but I live about 13 miles inland from the ocean.

Looking at the summary on USGS. This was pretty shallow, only 6.2 miles down. Does that mean it could cause a bigger wave?

It's Bush's fault.
By not signing the Kyoto treaty and sending more troops to kill terrorists in Iraq, he is making the earthquake gods angry and they are lashing out in fury.
If only Pelosi or Hillary were president, then the earth would be at peace.

Conflicting magnitude though.
Reports of 7.7
or 8.4.
What did your cell ping say, my e mail ping said 7.4 but the 911 advisory (our local county 911) said 8.4
Hmmm and nothing on the NOAA radio.

My prayers for your son. I did training in the Navy Reserves at Misawa, and it's on the northern end of Honshu. God Speed. I was there in the 80's when a 5.5 hit and it was impressive at THAT level!
