no, since Shawn's kidnapping his mom and dad have dropped everything just to find him and other kids like him. Their actions do not appear to be those of meth addicts one bit.
They appear to me to be poor, with no money to improve their appearence, but not meth addicts. Meth addicts wouldn't have started a foundation in their sons name to find other kids and been so active in finding their son.
How sad!
That really angers me. I can understand why he would stay, but explaining it to some idiots is apparently futile.
I agree with what you are saying. Shawn's parents just seem to have been lost for the past 4 1/2 years, and to think what a tole that would take on one's body and life. I can tell they are so happy to have him back, but he will always be a changed and marked boy, they know that but yet they love him and want to help him get back to a "normal life" and try to make up for the years he lost.

I believe the police officers only credit Mitchell on the show, but I could be wrong. It is on at 4 here. Since there is a reward involved, I suppose some may want to claim it?
Yes, that's what I've been thinking as well. Reward money or just wanting to be in the limelight.
That is my theory as well. I read today that MD's boss said that MD took off of work for 3 months at the beginning of 2003. MD said he was going to have a toe amputated and was going to be recovering for 3 months at his mother's house. First of all, I wonder if this toe surgery story is true. 2nd, this was after he kidnapped Shawn. If there was another child involved when MD kidnapped Shawn, could this 3 month period be the "transitional" period between boys? Makes one wonder about the land MD owns. IMHO

exactly, educate themselves! I have already started tryung to educate myself and my kids better this week. Shawn must know that he is bringing to light the something most people don't understand. People forget cause this happend before with Steven Staynor. I hope that since times have changed we will have a better education about kidnappings and not allow to prevent them, but how to get yourself out of it should you get kidnapped.

good, glad you are going to watch. I told my hubby I wanted him to watch, but he won't. He isn't made of steel and it bothers him to hear about other people's tragedy, specially something like this.
I do know if he was alone with Devlin right now I'm sure he'd want to take a baseball to his head.

Sorry, couldn't resist a little levity. This situation is so upsetting, it's about to get ME down.
I have no idea if it is the reward money or not but this Geoff guy was on TV very early on when story broke locally at about 4:30pm and by time the 5:00pm news was on Geoff was on the TV telling his story about taking a picture of the truck and taking it up to the police station on Thursday., etc.
I have no idea if you are in the St. Louis Metro area. I am just telling you what I saw when the story broke in the local area.
If anyone is after the reward then it would have to be split up between Mitch Hult and this Geoff man. We all have to remember also that they were looking for Ben and not Shawn at the time.

As I've said repeatedly, Hadler's wife was also interviewed as the story was breaking on Friday. She said that they had called the police "hundred's of times" when they heard screams from the apartment. You haven't seen the media replay that one.
