I must admit I thought something very similar about Obama I would warrant the only people in Britain that have heard of him are those that follow Presidential elections and watched the 2004 DNC in Boston that was shown on our Parliamentary channel (we had the Cspan coverage).
Recently though he has been seen on TV news but then I doubt if people have retained his name.

Recently though he has been seen on TV news but then I doubt if people have retained his name.They have no reason to. The guy means nothing to Britons. Maybe in the future if we Yanks are dumb enough to put him in the presidency or vice presidency, but certainly not now.
