The AMT almost got me last year....it kinda snuck up on me...I've never ever been close to it....they keep changing the rules and now it's starting to hit us lower middle income classes....have you heard of any changes in the AMT for 2007?
There have been none, and without a change, the AMT will hit an additional 23 million families this year, and they are families who will not consider themselves rich. The dems are in a bit of a fix right now, having passed their phony "pay as you go" measure. They can't take the anticipated revenue away from anything else. They never do that. So a tax increase will be required to offset the revenue loss. Who will they tax, I wonder? If nothing is done, those 23 million families are going to be very, very angry and the dems will be trying to figure out a way to blame it on the other party
