Only the truly fanatic see a comparision between a woman who had undergone 15 years of progressively worse brain degeneration and a man who has been afflicted for a MONTH. Johnson could well wind up in the same state as Schiavo who needed FAR more than "just a feeding tube". There was constant around the clock medical care needed as well. The feeding tube only allowed the pretense of life to be maintained since the heart still beat but there was no other life involved.

the point is this - suppose he did enter a brain dead vegetative state, and his wife wanted no extraordinary means to keep him alive. how long do you think it would take the Dems to identify a guardian for him and find some judge to overturn her wishes (until 2008)? about 5 minutes.

The point of my post, and subsequent unanswered questions that I posed was simply this. It is highly hypocritical of the deathocrats to not call for the Senator's death. Honestly, I think we should put out an Amber Alert for George Felos. Terri Schivo was not brain dead, she was severely brain damaged. Like a lobotomized person, or a severely retarded person. The only difference was that Terri needed a feeding tube. Senator Johnson is in considerably worse shape in that he is still in a coma and the prognosis is not good for his future mental condition (although we all hope that things will work out for him and his family). My point is that I think it is laughable (about the only thing laughable in this terrible situation) that all of the sudden, the deathocrats are completely silent about what should be done with the Senator. Where are the so called "compassionate and caring" liberals who wanted to put Terri out of her misery (even though they also claimed that she was brain dead - how can a person who is brain dead be in misery?). What a bunch of little moral cowards they are.

But all of this is an aside. As I've said before, the real fact of the matter is the deathocrats wanted Terri dead so that they could show that they had power over Bush and the Christian community. The libertarians wanted Terri dead so that they could show that they weren't like Bush or the Christian community. That's the truth of the whole sad story. What the libertarians and the deathocrats do with their conscience (if they actually have any) is their own problem.
