Isn't it sort of comically pathetic that the poor, pitiful National Guard - an element of the United States Army - has to call for rescue from a police agency?
We all know that's because they have been legally hamstrung by the political stunt of putting them on their border with their hands tied.
I have been all over the desert just to the north of Sasabe. Not so long ago, things like this would have been unimaginable. Sure, there were smuggler incidents - but those were police actions, not much more. But slowly, over the years, the audacity on the part of the gangs (and that includes the gang known as "the Mexican Army") has been growing - in direct proportion to their perception of weakness in the U.S. government. And now we have things like this actually happening quite frequently. That shows the contempt for the forces of the U.S. to the South.

Which is pretty much what I think the administration wants to have happen.
If one of the Guardsmen had made the mistake of trying to defend himself, I'm sure they'll bring in Johnny Sutton to prosecute him.
Frankly putting Guards at the border that are forced to retreat because of ridiculous ROE is much worse than not having the Guards at the border at all. This just emboldens our enemies, who will consider this an outright victory.
If the border runners keep this up, eventually a fully armed border guard will be in place and will have orders to suppress, with force of arms, enemy action.
The first report that I read yesterday stated that the Mexicans were dressed in military uniforms. Right now I can't find a link to it but when I do, I'll let you know.

I believe months is an optimistic estimate. I do a lot of FOIA responses - try years. Except for recent requests from CAIR - they get expedited from the top. Incredible?
That is funny, but it is exactly what many are saying.
The US is the only country that is not allowed to secure its borders.

Just remember. It's been you posting this vitriol. Not me. Did you even read the report from the Heritage Foundation? I doubt it. Those two paragraphs were a synopsis of the report. Look at the data and see if you are not advocating a permanent second class. Because that's what's coming. The only way out of it now is to spend tax money to support them which is what we have been doing. It's only going to get worse with leagalization. Then they will be entitled to much more of our tax dollars. But, you go ahead and pretend that a "reasonable solution" will actually solve anything.
