Outside





My sister and I are finally going Outside
The Laws Of The Jungle we now abide
Feeling the cool slick grass on our paws as we pass
Eyes wide as we marvel at all these things exciting and new

As birds soar high the the sky the color Humans call "Blue"
We pause to sip and savor the moist air's aromas that surround
And floats in the misty pollen that coats our fur without a sound
Down the sloping hill and old and fallen trees

Two curious young explorers doing as they please
Always cautious to stay within each other's sight
For two Kittens are always better than one if there should be a fight
And who knows what hidden dangers may suddenly be our plight?

We promenade, then leap should something get our attention
For as a pair, there is little room for dissension
While we sniff and paw and scratch and roll around
Coloring our fur with the hues and musts of the ground

With lots to see and even more to remember
The Sun drops low and becomes a waning ember
Telling Sonia and I that we have done well and passed this test
As clouds swallow the sun and we cuddle for a rest
