Who else have we got? John McCain (if it comes down between him and Hillary, I'll vote Hillary...I trust Hillary to defend us over McCain. At least Hillary has seemingly SOME sense of self-preservation). Rudy (Social lib). Newt is saying he's not running. Condi says she's not running. Mike Huckabee. Mitt Romney. (don't know enough about either) I DO know Huckabee was a good governor. Just not sure about him as a Pres (good or bad).
So, basically that leaves us with a huge NO in McCain. An act of desperation in Rudy. And several folks I don't know much about. I'm not sure we can rule out Jeb just yet since, frankly, it appears our pickings are pretty slim unless someone shows up on a white horse SOON.
Huckabee was a good governor, and might make a good president. Jeb's record as governor is VERY good, but he could not win the presidency in 2008 no matter how good a job he has done and no matter how much better he might articulate a conservative message than W has done. The squishy middle "independent" vote will simply not go for him. He could possibly carry most of the south and some of the mid-west, but he would not be able to carry enough of the country to win the presidency. In 2012 or 2016 -- MAYBE. But there is no way he wins in 2008.
HILLARY???? NEVER!!!!
If you would vote for Hillary you should be on the DU board. If you would support Hillary you're not a freeper.
