It seems that's NOT the case where prostitution is legal AND regulated by health codes. How many cases of any STDs have been transmitted by the legal brothels in Nevada over the years?

I have a "gut feeling" that some people are thinking of making prostitution more readily available. In that case, a better question would be, "How many people have become ill by eating at inspected eateries?"
Regulating thousands of brothels would be quite a job.
Plenty of potential for bribing inspectors.
As I understand it, when countries like Germany invested big in government-franchised brothels to service customers at recent public events, their use was far less than antiicipated, because men who wanted normal sex were getting it from their girlfriends (nothing's cheaper than free), and men who wanted something edgy and dangerous (including underage girls, condom-free etc) couldn't get that at a government brothel.
How many illegal whores compete with the legal ones in e.g. Nevada or Amsterdam? I bet there's more rather than less.
From a female point of view anyway, what a profoundly depressing subject.
