MURFEESBORO, TN (August 2005) - In August, Williams was arrested at a Murfreesboro nightclub on charges of public drunkenness and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors, and is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 11 2006.
WORCESTER, Mass. (Oct. 29, 2006) Cornerback Darrent Williams was issued a citation for misdemeanor assault after a University of Massachussetts student accused him of spitting in her face at a nightclub.
FT WORTH, Tex (Feb. 2003) - According to a police report, an officer pulled the car over, and the driver of the Impala identified himself as a player with the Denver Broncos.
The report says the officer noticed a strong marijuana odor in the car as he stood at the open drivers-side window.
As he spoke to Williams, a crowd of about 30 people began walking up, cursing at the officer and demanding to know why he was speaking with the driver. Williams recognized several people and began speaking to them, the report says.
The officer directed the crowd to back away, then called for additional officers. When more officers arrived, Williams and Stevenson were told to get out of the car and sit on the curb, the report says.
A search of the car uncovered a glass jar containing less than an ounce of a green, leafy substance that appeared to be marijuana in the center armrest. The officers tried to detain both men for further investigation, the report says.
As one officer tried to handcuff Williams, he refused to remain seated and stood up, tensing up his arms to avoid being handcuffed, the report states. The officer placed both hands on Williams shoulders, pushed him back into a seated position and again told him not to stand up, the report says.
The crowd then began getting aggressive, cursing officers and demanding to know what the driver and passenger had done, the report says.
When Williams stood up again despite repeated instructions not to, an officer took his arm and placed him face down in the grass in an attempt to control him, and a second officer then pointed his Taser at Williams, the report says. Both men were handcuffed as more officers arrived to help with crowd control.
According to the report, Stevenson was released after officers determined that he had no outstanding warrants and because the officers planned to detain only Williams, because he had been in control of the car.

I feel sorry for his family but what you posted is what I remember reading about Williams. IMHO he was in the wrong place at the wrong time because bullets shot like that hit someone randomly. Does make me wonder about the people that were invited to this party and why invite gang members would be my first question.
Someone better be looking into the betting angle because it wouldn't surprise me at all with the way that game was played at the end.
It is a shame when anyone loses their life because of senseless shootings. I don't think some cities are tough enough on these drive-by shooting scum. They need to round up gang members and judges need to be harder on them. Always shocks me when some of them have a high priced lawyer to get them out and wonder who is ultimately behind the gang violence.
