BTTT - thanks girlangler for the ping to this heartwarming story.
tgsltakoma and AW- wanna ping the WRAMC regulars to this?
It's neat to hear from the freepers who grew up there. Seriously, I have never met more wonderful people than the ones at Reelfoot. Encourage everyone you know to take a vacation there, and patronize these businesses. Everyone should experience Reelfoot at least once in their lives.
Also, if you belong to a hunting/fishing horseback riding/camping/sailing, skiiing, etc. club, and want an opportunity to help America's finest, consider contacting the WWP to arrange a trip for a small group of these vets.
Thanks for the ping, cf_river-rat, to this great story. Happy to ping the others. I saw a Wounded Warrior van at Walter Reed just this past Friday. It's a great group.

(Be sure to use ".org". Neither "woundedwarrior.com" nor "woundedwarriors.com" is the right destination for our purposes.)
It would be wonderful to see more outings like this available. My retired father now works at a park and just loves to help out with the disabled hunter's event they hold.
Thanks also for the info on Reelfoot. We'll be shopping for a hunting or fishing excursion at the upcoming Eastern Sports & Outdoors Show. I'll make a note to specifically look for Tennessee vendors so we could work Reelfoot Lake into the trip.
There are ways for people to provide these trips, and when you see the faces of these vets on these excursions, you'll see what a valuable program this is.
And do go to Reelfoot, it is one of the most memorable events I have ever had the pleasure to attend. And I have attended many.
The history and traditions of places like Reelfoot are fading fast, go there and see it before it is too late.
Thank you. You are, and have been doing the Lords work.
Thanks
*APPLAUSE* :)
My dad also took us out there periodically. I remember catching bluegill the size and shape of dinner plates. They could really fight too! I remember plopping my cricket between the lily pads and waiting for the explosion.
