Nifong has honesty

Over the past few weeks I have listened to the accusations regarding the election for district attorney and I can no longer remain silent. As a young prosecutor in Durham County, this is the biggest race for the office of district attorney ever, and at the center of this race is the question, "Will justice be equal for all?" Clearly, justice for all means a vote for Mike Nifong come May 2. However, not voting for Nifong would set justice for Durham County back 50 years or more.

On a recent visit with Nifong, I looked in his eyes and saw the one true characteristic that anyone should want in their district attorney, honesty. That honesty that is also reflected in his statement pertaining to the Duke-lacrosse case, "I want to stand for what is right, then be elected." Voting against Nifong would compromise the integrity and high ethical standards of our judicial system. I do believe that he is the best candidate for district attorney -- one that money cannot buy.

The writer is an assistant district attorney.

Very Amusing and of course completely unbiased, huh?

"As a young prosecutor in Durham" Ms. Rhinehart, I suggest you start looking for another job. "Your" record in the courtroom demonstrates the unimpressive, unorganized, and inefficient lack of talent the District Attorney has recruited. Its a JOKE!

If you need verification, I'm sure you can locate your nearest Office of the Clerk of Courts......well, perhaps you cant.

In Durham County, the blacks now control the
City Council and Mayor's office, School Board,
Police Department, all the city agencies, and
on and on. With the promotion of Hardin to Judge,
the DA election became the opportunity to finally
complete a takeover of the Courthouse.

This complete control of the city and county puts
Duke University in quite a vise. Give them time-
looks like they already have Brodhead.

Dear Shamieka Reinhart,

It is the shameless pandering to superiors and blatant disregard of reality in favor of short term racially based political gain that has made life difficult for America's minorities.

Such egregious asininity as you have displayed all too publicly is a common reason all too many wonder if a minority professional received their professional education/qualification because of race or because of ability.

My closest friend has often mentioned just this point.

PS He is an American black whose intelligence and impeccable
behavior/ethics have earned my respect ever since
college.
