FOX also reported that the Iraqi gov is seeking permission to execute him on a holiday. My guess, if that answer comes back in the affirmative, the transfer and execution will take place. If not, he will remain in US custody until after the holiday (and maybe Sunday).

They don't want responsibility for guarding him for up to 48 hours.

We don't want them guarding him for 48 hours. There are too many infiltrators in their ranks.
