#186, if you watch him closely, and listen to him, he talks slower than ever and his NW Florida Cracker drawl (which he mostly lost) is back and very pronounced. Example I never heard him refer to Oil Drilling as "All drillin", and "Ahm gawannah do sumpin bout it" He has a particularly far off look and a really eerie, peculiar, out of place ear to ear grin. He cannot follow the Conversation very well, and he goes off like he is deaf and did not really hear the question. He hears fine, but something is lost between his ears and his brain. It is very sad to see a grown man embarrassed like that, especially since he is a US Senator from my State. Don't take my word for it, TIVO it and re- examine.I am wondering what the Family is doing about it.

Hi MiD!!!
I am watching the Broncos game on TV, and I am really enjoying the snow falling.
I bet the fans in the stands, and you guys are NOT quite as happy for a Christmas Eve snow as you might have been if you hadn't had the blizzard last week.
Love your Mayor...wanting to get all of the sleds for races...I was waiting for him to blame Pres. Bush...LOL

He responded to several questions, during the News Hour interview, as if completely different subjects were under discussion. More than once the interviewer had to steer Nelson back onto the topic. I very distinctly remember thinking that he was wandering around quite a bit.

I must have had a bit of a Senior Moment. I was thinking, of Fund, Lowry, and David Frum who are quite the Trifecta (more Spanish Gambling lingo) of Metrosexuals and I did not say Fund, I said Frum. Oy! I stand by what I opined about Fund but used Frum's name. Now I am sure you may be confused, but you will figure it out. Except for the Pinky, and that Frum is Canadian ( I believe) they are all the same types. David is not quite as bad, I will give him that.

Funny but it is hard to believe anyone who has seen pictures of Hillary when she was in college would ever consider dating her. It was different then... it was the 70s.
There was bad clothing, bad hair, bad music, bad drugs.
Taken in combination, anything could have happened.
To: PerConPat
#223, you have done an excellent analysis of the problem, he wanders off like he is listening to a voice in his ear, not the person talking to him. Tim Russert did a double take when he was in the Debate with K Harris after she outlined all the issues that he is to the left of Hillary on with the ACLU, and other wacko groups, and he said " Ah don't know what she is talkin bout". He did not offer an explanation of his way to the left of center voting, because I do not think he knows. He is waywardly running off to Syria because he has delusions of Grandeur that they will pick him to run for Rat VP. It will only get worse, and he could have gotten himself killed or caused a seriously bad International incident making it more dangerous for Americans here and abroad. Someone has to step forward and get him to a Doctor.

I just wanted to tell you all Merry Christmas!
I want to also add this:
A long time ago- I wanted to make a family tradition of putting our gifts in a manger- not under a tree.
At the time- it was a choice of just wanting to teach my children what Christmas was truly about.
God gave us the ultimate gift on Christmas....
It was the gift of a savior.
He placed his gift in a crib....a trough....not under a lighted tree...
Last year- I gave away 2 artificial trees.....this year- things were tight....I could not have afforded a tree- if I wanted one....but God was so GREAT and faithful....
my son has gone to Pennsylvania for Christmas-- to be with his dad....
Travis has joined us this year...
but tomorrow- I will get to see Travis, and my girls have gifts....but in a crib....and to teach Travis what I have taught my children...
in the past-- I have signed gifts from "Jesus" or "God"..
but this year-- as I sign the gifts from God, and Jesus...it has a deeper meaning than it ever has before...
if not for God- not only would be gifts be bare...but the real gift of God would not be given the glory He deserves...
I hope all of this makes sense...
Thanks to each of you...and may god bless you as much as he has blessed my family this year...

Excerpt from last week's News Hour interview with Bill Nelson:
MARGARET WARNER: But, you know, you heard Secretary Rice say the Syrians know, she said, what to do if they want to help, at least not inflame the violence in Iraq, and that is to stop letting insurgents and weapons and money cross the border from Syria into Iraq.
Did you discuss that with President Assad? Did he tell you why he hasn't stopped it up until now?
SEN. BILL NELSON: Well, I certainly did. And that's where he and I sharply disagreed. And I told him that, the next day, that I was going to Lebanon to meet with the Prime Minister, Siniora, and that I strongly supported that government. The...
MARGARET WARNER: I'm sorry, Senator. I'm actually asking about Iraq. Did he explain why that border between Syria and Iraq continues to be so porous, why the insurgents continue to get re-supplied through that channel?
She's talking about Iraq, and he swerves off into Lebanon. As you say, his mind seems not to be focused. Have a Merry Christmas.

THE PRESS IS AN EVIL FOR WHICH THERE IS NO REMEDYDo not fear the enemy, for your enemy can only take your life. It is far better that you fear the press, for they will steal your HONOR. That awful power, the public opinion of a nation, is created in America by a horde of ignorant, self-complacent simpletons who failed at ditching and shoemaking and fetched up in journalism on their way to the poorhouse. -Mark Twain
