David Irving: Jews should ask themselves why they are hated

Holocaust denier David Irving on Friday said Jews should ask themselves why they have been hated throughout history.

"They [Jews] should ask themselves the question, 'Why have they been so hated for 3000 years that there has been pogrom after pogrom in country after country?', said Irving, speaking at a press conference he convened in England on Friday, a day after he was released from an Austrian prison.

Irving, who was sentenced to three years in prison for denying the Holocaust, was released last week after his appeal was granted.

Asked if he sees himself as anti-Semitic, Irving said, "No, I like to think I am not."

But immediately following his answer, Irving expressed his support for Mel Gibson's comments that "The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world."

Irving also took pride in the success of his books and claimed that he the fortune he made from sales of his biography on World War II German General Erwin Rommel enabled him to walk into a car showroom with a paper bag stuffed with cash to buy a "Nigger brown Rolls-Royce."

Irving's comments aroused great anger within Britain's Jewish community.

Lord Janner, president of the Holocaust Educational Trust, said Irving's release was "unwarranted" and that Irving's "latest comments were totally to be expected and should be totally ignored."

From my reading, the house of Judah after the split of the tribes contained Judah and Benjamin, with their Levite priests and a scattering of members of other tribes who chose Judah over Israel. Smart move for them as it turned out.

Just right to the fruits of labor, except loss through a true crime, not expulsion. Expulsion for cause has always been the inherent right of the whole of any political group. Not many place to expel anyone nowadays, though.

We do differ on aspects of belief, but the beliefs we hold in common are basic and of great importance.

The Ten Commandments - the basic precepts of morality and what it means to live a moral life. The kindness and caring for others, trying to "heal the world" - we share all this.

I think both Moses and Christ would agree on this and I think both would be happy to know that we share these common goals.

And just as important...that after centuries of struggle with one another, that hopefully we have finally come to a brotherly/sisterly understanding that each sibling has something to offer the other and that neither is a threat to the other.

I always hear from anti-semites as to why Jews should ask themselves why they are hated. As if its some deep dark mystery.
Jews are simply hated because for 2 thousand years they bucked the trend and did not disappear. They rejected Paul's reinterpretation of Yeshua the Nazorean, especially since Yeshua himself was a Jew. They rejected Mohammed's alternative which was partly derived from Judaism itself. And they rejected Martin Luthers rejection of the Church, the Pope and the bureaucracy.
With such a history of individuality the whipping post characterization of the Jews has persisted so that in the subsequent ages of Enlightenment and Political Correctness the original reasons has been forgotten.
