Merry Christmas to everyone! My sincere congratulations to everyone for the Glorious and Auspicious Birthday of Divine Prophet - confirmed and authenticated by Gabriel, the angel of Divine revelation - the Obedient of Almighty God, Jesus Christ, the Messiah (peace be upon Him)
He was a messenger of peace, devotion and love based upon monotheism and justice. He was raised in His Mother’s hand – Virgin Mary (peace be upon her) – that Almighty God stood her as impeccable and exalted her above the women of the world. The Mother and the Son that in the Divine Sight are reputable and prestigious. And they are positioned by God – The All Wise- at a sublime level.
There’s no doubt, after God – the Peerless Creator, the Beneficent, the Merciful – created the human beings, did not forsake them on their own. By sending and assigning the emissaries – prophets and messengers - along with the righteous individuals, and on top of that, by providing and utilizing the mankind with the gifts of intellect and human nature, they are guided in the right path – in order to achieve the complete perfection. The human generations – one after another – were not created to live in anguish, intimidation, skirmish, aggression, oppression, and misery. And without enjoying an amity and fraternity atmosphere - replete of love and justice – depart this life and leave it for the next generations....

If I am not mistaken, Muslims consider JEsus Christ to be a prophet, but no the son of God, and certainly not the Savior of the world.

OK, here goes. I have spent a lot of time in the middle east and central asia, specifically Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan.
As "people of the Book" there is much in common between conservative, traditional Americans and the everyday member of Islamic society. Contrast this to the "remove God and His teachings from all aspects of society" mission statement of the American left.
The hatred for "American values" has grown in the region through it's exposure to our "culture" as evoked through Hollywood and the media, which is, in fact, anti-thetical to the traditions and values that enriched the soil that produced a Reagan revolution.
The very people who voted in great numbers to elect the party endorsed by those sworn to kill us all will be first slaughtered should we lose this war.

Ahmadinejad is a Shi'ite. The website linked to on the page you've linked to is Sunni. Ahmadinejad does not care what they have to say about Christmas, or anything else. Furthermore, Shi'ites only recognize as Imams a limited number of Muhammad's direct descendants; their usage of the term is quite different than the Sunni imam. Ahmadinejad's supreme religious leader is Supreme Leader Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and I'm fairly certain he's authorized Ahmadinejad's propaganda outreach to Christians. The Supreme Leader can make life very difficult for an intransigent president, and we can assume that the two agree on all major matters of international relations.
One might argue that Christians didn't know what it meant when they co-opted it from Jews....

The early Christians were Jews. You mean when they "co-opted it" from themselves?
It's called "taqiyya", it means prevention. Robert Spencer and a former Muslim talked about it on some documentary they were in. Not only can they lie to infidels, but they can also lie to family or anyone else if it prevents trouble; if it's the easier way out. That's not much of a guideline since the purpose of lying is usually to find an easy way out.
They don't even understand the significance of "divine" vs mortal.

Muslims hate both sides of American/Western culture. Yes, they hate the Hollywood garbage. But they also hate pious Christian culture as well. The genocide in Sudan against Christians is against simple people who merely refuse to worship to Mecca. The Islamic conquests of the 600-700s (AD) had nothing to do with a reaction to Hollywood garbage.
