Nifong filing to dismiss rape charges. Will keep SA and kidnap charges.

I wonder what the grand jurors are thinking about now? Are they wondering if they indicted a lot more people on flimsy or nonexistent evidence?

FNC reminding viewers how Nifong and private lab agreed NOT to release exonerating DNA evidence to the Grand Jury.

Black jurors who just want racial payback...Feminist jurors (mainly white) who hate men and believe "no woman lies about rape"...Honest jurors of any race who will have to have it in the back of their minds that the "wrong" verdict may bring on a riot, loss of property, loss of life, and so may welcome a 'compromise' verdict finding the Duke 3 guilty of Something...Yeah, if this case goes to trial, there is still a chance these boys may be destroyed. Even being found guilty of a relatively minor felony charge can bar them from certain professions or activities requiring security clearances, can't it? Plus, if they're found guilty of anything, here comes the lying slut and her lawyer, out for a civil suit.

I won't feel relieved till ALL charges are dropped. I hope the posters predicting a quiet drop will prove prescient : As was pointed out on another thread, she could use her baby as an excuse .

If I were the AG in North Carolina, I'd be looking at Nifong's other cases, and if it's a seated, relatively long term GJ, those folks should be demanding this be done.

Drew Findling, criminal defense attorney: Nifong has nothing. This case is a farce and he used it for campaign purposes. He'll gradually dismiss the case. It will never be tried.

The attorney on Chesire's right is Wade Smith. I grew up in the same neighborhood w/him....good guy (even though he's a dem) and winner of a Morehead Scholarship at UNC-Chapel Hill...the most prestigious scholarship there.
