I have a few things I'd like to say to you all as a result of the dismissal of the rape cases against the players. And then Wade Smith has comments to make and then we'll accept questions. We don't intend to be here all afternoon.
Earlier today Mr Nifong filed a dismissal of rape charges against these 3 young men leaving in place the kidnapping and forcible sexual assault cases. Those charges carry significant prison time if the players were convicted.
Sexaul assault is a B felony charge. The case is clearly not over.
The accuser in this case, to numerous medical personnel, stated she'd been penetrated by the penis of these young men in her anus, vagina and mouth. In March (16th) she told investigator, Mr. Hyman (OMG), that Bret, Matt and Adam (that's how she referred to them) put their penis in her vagina and anus. Adam put his penis in her mouth.
