Duncan’s Philp fury of Hate.

By Roscoe Thorndyke

In fort Collins Colorado and surrounding areas the Patriots of American had a common enemy. A man so vile and hateful he never seems to be happy unless he is hurting other person. I do not know what kind of childhood this person has had that could have produced such a hateful person. I was involved in the patriot movement though out the Clinton era and even into the Bush presidency well.

During the nineteen nineties Duncan Philp was heavily involved with skinheads and the Christian Identity movement. Mean while freedom loving people all over this country was feeling the over bearing ever growing government. More and more people were seeing the government lead by Bill Clinton pressing down and taking away there freedom and money. The government was growing to such great extremes them. After what happened at the Waco church wise people became to see that government was not here to help but to control. Out of this the idea for the TRT (Tyranny Response Team) was formed.

The TRT was created by Libertarians, John Birchers, gun shop owners rightwing Christians and Veterans all of hum felt left out in Clintons rule. After the Columbine shooting liberals all over turned the attention on dis-arming all citizens. The created an out rage and the newly form TRT was created during this time. As the anti gun people marches and protest unopposed. The TRT grew rabidly with help form a small town Christian radio station in Johnstown Colorado.

Suddenly the anti-gun movement had opposition and those who were frustrated by the oppressiveness of the federal government had a place to vent. Many people became part of this group it attracted quite a diverse group of right wing thinking people. John Birchers, Libertarians Constitutionalist like me, various Christian groups and gun owners to name a few. This was an exiting time to be a members of the TRT. The TRT was very diverse there were may conflicting opinions as well. But we all united together for the common good. Soon the TRT drew more people to the anti-gun rallies than the anti gun people could gather even when they would bus them in. I personally look forward to TRT events and they were all huge and all fun and exiting. The TRT was like a big family it grew like wildfire via the internet and TRT chapters were popping up all over the United States. The Free Republic even had links and a page for the TRT to post there events and act as a conduit for communication for members of the TRT.

Some time during this time a hate monger by the name of Duncan Philp became involved with the TRT. A man involved with a very racist and anti-Semitic church in Laporte Colorado, turned his sight on the Patriot movement. He saw conflict with a common enemy and it attracted him. We a true patriots did not hate those on the left who wanted to take our guns we only wanted then to see that we were people who cared about freedom and in fact we only want to let then see our side. But Duncan saw thing differently and he want to create hostility. Duncan had a very fowl mouth and he would use such hateful terns as well.

Soon with Duncan’s fiery red hatred and disregard for anything wholesome he used his megaphone to push his words and brought shame to the TRT and there members. When people would confront him on this he would get even more vulgar and use it to scream directly in the hears of those who ask him nicely to not use such words. If someone would tell him not to used those words in front of the many children who were part of the TRT he would point his megaphone towards the children and all these kids names and tell them they were going to die horrible deaths if they did not follow him. Duncan turn his hate toward all the members in the TRT that did not hold to his pysdo-anarchist beliefs he had. Anarchy is a common belief among skinheads a hold over from Duncan’s past. Not to discredit Anarchy they are true Anarchist and perhaps there were some in the TRT but Duncan was never one of them.

It was not long then that other groups who would rally with the TRT became to drop of and disassociate with them. Rocky Mountain Gun owners was on of the first to leave because of Duncan’s antics. Then followed by the Second Amendment sisters. So the Johnstown Radio Station had to disassociate with the TRT reputation for being of fowl language and hate. The TRT once a family friendly group turned to hateful bunch of pirates.

Duncan turn on those who were slipping way. He mad it very clear in radium e-mails to members that Christians and families were not well come. He stated that the TRT was only for him and his Anarchist friends. John Birchers his next Targets. At the beginning there were several members of the American Constitution party and Duncan who his very vocal about being anti-American turn on those who believe in the constitution. Duncan began to send me e-mails telling me that I can not be part of the TRT because I had at the time work for the State and because I believe in the constitution and the bill of rights. Duncan has made it clear he hates all laws and the bill of rights are the law of the land so there for his is against them.

There were several hold outs from the TRT that still believe that one day the TRT can return to it’s pre-Duncan greatness. Many of us who were Veterans in fact there were founding members who were Veterans and the American legion offer there building for there events rent free. But Duncan can out ageist the war and hey I do not like Bush either nor did I vote for him but I still believe we should supporting or Troops and our Veterans. That is why Duncan has turned his most resent hatred. He has emailed me an claimed that he hates all members of the American legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Marine Corps league and other Veteran groups who would not joined his anti American veteran group he was forming. Duncan did in fact call the VFW in fort Collins Colorado and make death threats to there members.

I have seen Duncan with members of the million mom’s march, CPUSA and the UN association. People who were once the enemies of the TRT are now allies with Duncan who claims to be the new CEO of the TRT in his lasted round of emails.

Duncan is nothing more than a confused hate monger. He was and it is well documented that he belonged to a groups of racist skinheads. It came out in a report by the Anti Deformation League that Duncan is in fact a leader of a militia of anti Jewish skinheads in the nineties. So Duncan wanted to disassociated with the skinheads so he started marching in Martin Luther King rallies there he could hate racist. Duncan when from a Patriot who hates Liberals and over a few years became a liberal who hate Conservatives. The only consistency is that Duncan is a sociopath hate monger no matter which groups he associates with he try to turn it into a hate group. To a person like Duncan hate is a drug. He is a junkie who has to hate large groups of people. I feel so sad for Duncan and I guess I am sorry for my entanglements with him I have had over the years it must have just fouled his hate. Duncan needs prayer. It is that type of hate that created Adolph Hitler and Joseph Stalin. Duncan is no leader so he could not wield the kind of power they did but the hate is all the same.

TRT should have cast him from their midst. If they did not see he was poison or failed to act, it was their fault.

Darren Morrison’s Virtual Aggression
Gun activists take their fire fight online.

It takes all kinds, this argument over guns in America. Patriots and paranoids, cranks and constitutionalists, handwringers and Huns, they all step up to the plate sooner or later. The debate is rarely polite, often incoherent and generally clouded by suspicion, fear and rancor.
Subject(s):
Columbine, Darren Morrison, Duncan Philp, Tom MauserBut it takes something special to reach the kind of bizarre denouement that played out in a Jefferson County courtroom last week, when a gun activist admitted to e-mailing death threats to a Columbine parent in the name of another gun activist — because, see, he believed his life had been threatened by the other activist, and he wanted to see the man arrested.

Makes sense? No? Then you haven’t met Darren Morrison.

Morrison, 44, is a Navy veteran and was, until recently, a custodian at Colorado State University. He ran unsuccessfully for Angie Paccione’s seat in the state legislature last year as a self-proclaimed independent, pro-gun, anti-immigration, anti-abortion, born-again Christian. An additional preoccupation, not listed in his campaign biography, appears to be Duncan Philp.

Philp, a prominent gun-rights advocate who lives in Wyoming, posts frequently on Tyranny Response Team (www.trtnational.com) and has been a fixture at antiwar and Second Amendment rights rallies in Fort Collins. Morrison claims that Philp is a “hate monger” and has shouted unpleasant things at him at protests through a megaphone. He thinks he’s seen Philp’s car idling outside his home. When Morrison was banned from posting on the TRT forum a few months ago, Philp suggested adding Morrison to a list of deceased members: “Poor Darren we knew him well,” he wrote. Morrison regarded the jibe as a death threat.

Philp denies ever threatening Morrison. “I don’t have the time to drive seventy miles to stalk this guy,” he says. “He was sending me all kinds of e-mails taunting me. We were never friends. He found out that a lot of the Tyranny Response Team members are anarchist libertarians, and he equates that with communists.”

Last December as the feud heated up, a series of ominous e-mails went out to law enforcement, a local gun group and others, ostensibly from Philp, boasting of his prowess with a .50-caliber handgun. The most disturbing ones came to the inbox of Tom Mauser, who’s become an outspoken advocate of tougher gun laws since his son, Daniel, was slain in the 1999 attack on Columbine High School. Philp was involved in a protest outside Mauser’s home in 2001 and collected $20,000 in a lawsuit over police harassment stemming from the incident (”Deeper Into Columbine,” October 31, 2002).

“I have a laser site on my 50 cal as well as a home made silencer,” one typo-riddled missive read. “I have spotted planes fling into DIA. I could easly shoot one down so do not take any trips for a while.”

Mauser was understandably alarmed. “I get this stuff a lot, but this one really did cross the line,” he says. He contacted the authorities.

The threat came to the attention of the director of the FBI, and the Denver airport went to a heightened state of security for a brief time. A few days later, in a parking lot on the campus of a Cheyenne community college where he was taking classes, Philp was confronted by six sheriff’s deputies, three FBI agents and four campus security guards. Some of the officers had guns drawn, Philp says, leading to a shouting match between him and the federal agents.

“I just got fed up with this nonsense,” he says. “I’ve put up with it for fifteen years.”

Questioned about the e-mails, Philp admitted some familiarity with .50-caliber weaponry — enough to know that shooting down an airplane with a handgun isn’t an option. He pointed out that the atrocious spelling and grammar were similar to that found in messages he’d received from Morrison. In online postings, Morrison has acknowledged having dyslexia; he’s also written of the “rabid” growth of the TRT and to receiving “treats,” not threats, from Philp.

Morrison later admitted to a reporter from CSU’s Rocky Mountain Collegian that he’d sent the e-mails. He wrote a letter of apology to Mauser and pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of harassment. At Morrison’s sentencing two weeks ago, Mauser testified about the strain the threats caused to his family during the Christmas season.

“My wife was very disturbed,” he said. “He’s playing with people’s lives. Mr. Philp has engaged in some unsavory activities toward me over the years, but he didn’t deserve to be targeted like this, either.”

A tearful Morrison apologized again while insisting that he had reason to fear Philp. “I wasn’t sure he wasn’t going to try to kill me,” he said. “I got sucked into the fight...What I did was inexcusable. I beat myself up all the time for what I did...I’ve never done anything like this. I just didn’t think this through.”

Philp suspects that Morrison is behind other threatening e-mails he’s received in recent months, a charge Morrison has denied. Philp wanted the judge to order some jail time as well as a psychological evaluation. “He’s cost the system an awful lot of money,” he said.
