Bad timing here too. We are supposed to be leaving in the morning for Denver (from NJ). It might clear up - in the air East of Denver, but that doesn't mean the roads will be clear for our rental car drive to Cherry Creek.
Just now, the weather channel said that the airport closed down at 2 PM. Gonna be alot of backed-up traffic when it opens! I understand that Friday, a million people are expected to pass thru the airport.
Nice to have a 'white Christmas', but c'mon!!!!
The long wait has begun at Denver International Airport where hundreds of passengers are starting to stake out a "soft" place to spend the night as virtually all of the airlines have cancelled flights this afternoon.
Long lines wrap around the terminal with people standing at Frontier, United, Continental and other airline counters hoping to change their flights for today to something tomorrow or later.
Standing next to the wall, Jeremy Carter, 17, of Houston, who spent the last five days skiing Breckenridge, shook his head and said, "I don't like snow anymore" after finding hed have to wait until Sunday to get a plane home.
Trevor Danfill, 39, of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, a directional driller for an oil company, flew in this morning from Little Rock, got stuck and couldnt get a hotel because theyre all booked up.
It didnt matter because he couldnt get an airport shuttle to take him to one anyway.
